The first time I saw this switch, I thought it was pretty neat but since I have a switch for my disposal just a few inches to the left of the sink I didn't have a need for it until recently. I received a AC powered touch-less faucet which has to be plugged in. I changed the single outlet (for the disposal) under the kitchen sink to a duplex outlet. I intended to make the duplex outlet a half hot outlet where the top plug is controlled by the switched and the bottom plug is always hot but found that the builder wired it in a way that did not allow for a half hot switch. I was a bit bummed until I remembered this switch.
I agree with others that the price is a little steep but when it's just what you need, what can you do but get it and move on.
The device is pretty simply...
1 - I connected the hose to the sink top switch
2 - Installed the switch in a predrilled hole
3 - Connected the hose to the outlet
4 - Then plugged in the outlet
I cut the hose since it's less than a foot from the sink top to the outlet for me. So far this switch has worked perfectly but most importantly I now have the extra "always hot" outlet for my faucet. The only issue I have is trying to remember not to use the old switch that previously controlled the disposal. If I turn it off it cuts the power for the disposal and the faucet. At any rate, this was a quick and easy solution that I'm sure cost far less than hiring an electrician to install an additional electrical outlet under the kitchen sink.

Designer friend recommended that I get these for my new island counter top instead of a remote switch and she was right. Much more convenient to have the switch next to sink and I am pleased that I could run out and get it from stock at my neighborhood Home Depot.

My garbage disposal switch is located under my sink. Since my husband installed this switch, which was very easy, I don't have to open my cupboard with wet hands to turn my disposal on. We were able to place the switch where the unnecessary dishwasher vent was previously located. Perfect for sinks in an island. Also, when I get a new faucet I can purchase a matching button cover for this switch.

The button is very responsive, just a light push to activate and another to stop it. It is hardly noticeable on the counter and no fumbling with wall switches to figure out which one is for lights and which for disposal.
We just installed it, so do not know if it will hold up as well as a wall switch in the long run, but for now loving it.

This air actuated switch does away with old wall switch. Not only is it safe, but does away with the switched outlet under the sink. You just plug it into a constant hot duplex under the sink and plug in the disposal and you are good to go. Any disposal I install for customers, I always use this product.

Easy to install and is a safe way to use the disposal in a wet area. Is a bit pricy and a lot of plastic but works well!

When I was buying the disposal unit, I looked at this item and decided not to purchase it. However, when I got home and told my wife, I was immediately on my way back to the store to buy it. Installation was fairly straight forward, but cutting a 3/4" hole in a stainless steel sink is a bit tricky. The function of this switch is flawless. It is actually a little air pump which attaches via a small hose to a module which plugs into an outlet mounted well away from any water, which in my case meant installing an outlet under the counter. Now we don't have to worry when cleaning off the sink, about splashing water or other liquid into some electrical part.

Beware! This switch is too short to install on some granite counter tops and sinks. It will only work on countertops and sinks with a combined thickness of 1 1/2 inches or less.
