I purchased this air compressor about 2 years ago to replace one which was around 30 years old and was getting tired. This one has been used only in a hobbyist application. Has not been used for auto body or any other extremely strenuous use. A few days ago I noticed it was vibrating slightly more than usual. I took the head off to find one of the reed valves had broke. I contacted the company to see what they could do. They said a reed valve wasn't available to purchase separately, I had to purchase the entire valve plate, which was $55, plus $11 for shipping and $11 for handling. So close to $80 to get my unit working again. The company won't stand behind the product. I asked to talk to a manager, got her voicemail. Should have kept the old tired iron I had, at least it pumped up.

This air compressor is really affordable for the home hobbyist and at home mechanic. The 60 gallon air tank is a large enough holding tank so the pump is not constantly running while you are working. It's very nice to have a compressor that goes to 155 psi. It kicks on about 125 psi so you never get low on air. When I followed the break in procedure on the pump I had the drain cock fully open in the bottom and as I ran it for 1/2 an hour it still kept almost 30 psi it it the whole time. This does run off 220 though and there is no plug so it must be hardwired in.

This seemed like a reasonable price for a hobbyist user, but I was wrong. My motor is about to go out. It surges first going really slow and then it goes faster than normal. The sound changes pitch (speed of compressor motor) often. It sometimes sounds like it is about to stall. Not sure when it's going to die completely, but I expect it any day.

Compressor has performed well enough over a 3 year period under light commercial duty.
I changed the oil to Royal Purple, added nylon lock nuts to bottom of pump and motor bolts and changed the cheap little drain valve to a ball valve (extended it out the side for easy draining).
The Condor MDR11 Air Pressure Switch failed after 2.5 years, so I added a Magnetic Starter (basically a large relay) after replacing the Condor. Starter bought on eBay from seller "gasandwater". Search for "MAGNETIC MOTOR STARTER CONTROL 5 HP".
I built a custom adapter to use the large round paper air filters installed in a silencer housing bought from eBay. It really reduced the noise. Search eBay for "Air Compressor Filter / Silencer 1" NPT Element" from seller jaydog512. Uses FILTER ELEMENTS # 14 / A424 * 2 1/4"H 4 3/8"OD 3" ID also found on eBay.
Annual or semi-annual maintenance is a must:
Air filter, oil and tighten belt.

I've only had this compressor for a couple of weeks now. But So Far So Good. My old compressor went out just as I had made a commetment to build some cabnets. I was waiting for it to get here so I could get started and time was getting short.I ran this compressor for the 30 minutes they recomended as I was putting the fittings on it just as the 30 minutes was up I closed the cut off valve I had just installed and the drain plug. Haven't look back, I used my nail guns and it hardly ever cut on and when it did it fill back up quickly. after finishing the cabnets. I sprayed 4 light coats of paint on them, it ran my spray guns with little effort. It is also the quitest compressor I've ever heard. So, even though I've only had it a couple of weeks I think I have given it a fair work out so far and I am very happy with my purchase. Time will tell.
