Customer Questions & Answers

Is this a single stage or two stage

Asked by: Dewey
It is single stage, but it has 2 cylinders compressing the air rather than just one.

Does this come with a wired/plug that I can just plug into a 220 line? Will it be strong enough to work a 110lb sand blasting unit?

Does this until come with a wire/plug that I can just plug into my 220 line outlet? If not what do I need to purchase or do to plug it in and operate? Will it operate my sand blaster (110lb 6 cfm) for say 4 min without it shutting off and me waiting for it to "reload"?
Asked by: alan1223
Compressor is not plug and play. The purchaser is responsible for wiring/plug. Unit will be strong enough to run a sand blaster but likely not continuous duty.

can u spray a complete paint job on a car

Asked by: Gilbert07
I don't think you would have any problem painting a car. Just remember you will need a good regulator to control the psi.

The Home Depot had the best deal (498.00+ tax and free shipping to your selected Home Depot location) for this brand compressor over all others including Amazon and Ebay etc. While others advertised the unit priced as free delivery, the prices were greatly inflated as much as $300-$400 more. Also if you do you research you will find that the Industrial Air brand is the least expensive over Dewalt, PoweMate, PorterCable just to name a few. They are all the same identical machine made by the same manufacturer. Otherwise you're just shelling out $$$ for the brand name and different color of paint. From a performance standpoint this machine performs outstanding for the small shop homeowner. Follow break-in instructions. Over all an excellent value.

The compressor works well, the only thing I would change is this thing should have an intercooler so the flywheel turning could cool the charge a little before it enters the tank. The way it is the tank gets pretty warm and promotes condensation in the air.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits my needs This air compressor is really affordable for the home hobbyist and at home mechanic. The 60 gallon air tank is a large enough holding tank so the pump is not constantly running while you are working. It's very nice to have a compressor that goes to 155 psi. It kicks on about 125 psi so you never get low on air. When I followed the break in procedure on the pump I had the drain cock fully open in the bottom and as I ran it for 1/2 an hour it still kept almost 30 psi it it the whole time. This does run off 220 though and there is no plug so it must be hardwired in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for hobbyist and very light commercial Compressor has performed well enough over a 3 year period under light commercial duty. I changed the oil to Royal Purple, added nylon lock nuts to bottom of pump and motor bolts and changed the cheap little drain valve to a ball valve (extended it out the side for easy draining). The Condor MDR11 Air Pressure Switch failed after 2.5 years, so I added a Magnetic Starter (basically a large relay) after replacing the Condor. Starter bought on eBay from seller "gasandwater". Search for "MAGNETIC MOTOR STARTER CONTROL 5 HP". I built a custom adapter to use the large round paper air filters installed in a silencer housing bought from eBay. It really reduced the noise. Search eBay for "Air Compressor Filter / Silencer 1" NPT Element" from seller jaydog512. Uses FILTER ELEMENTS # 14 / A424 * 2 1/4"H 4 3/8"OD 3" ID also found on eBay. Annual or semi-annual maintenance is a must: Air filter, oil and tighten belt. Here is some random info I have collected on the compressor as well as external parts I have added: Compressor parts for Industrial Air 3.1HP Gates Corporation Mm 53X1/2 Fhp V Belt 4L530 V Belts Condor MDR11 Air Pressure Switch 125-155 PSI Valve plate & gasket kit 043-0180 20uf MFD 250V 250 VAC run capacitor 161-193uf 250v start capacitor 4.375 x 2.0625 250 VAC Harbor Freight Compressed Air Dryer # 40211 Harbor Freight 68279 1/2 STANDARD AIR FILTER COILHOSE PNEUMATICS, #8804 HEAVY DUTY REGULATOR 1/2" GOODYEAR 1/2-Inch by 6-Feet 300 PSI Lead-In Rubber Air Hose With 1/2" MNPT Royal Purple Synfilm 100 Reciprocating Air Compressor Oil FILTER ELEMENTS # 14 / A424 * 2 1/4"H 4 3/8"OD 3" ID eBay MAGNETIC MOTOR STARTER CONTROL 5 HP Single Phase 220/240V 20-32A

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good I've only had this compressor for a couple of weeks now. But So Far So Good. My old compressor went out just as I had made a commetment to build some cabnets. I was waiting for it to get here so I could get started and time was getting short.I ran this compressor for the 30 minutes they recomended as I was putting the fittings on it just as the 30 minutes was up I closed the cut off valve I had just installed and the drain plug. Haven't look back, I used my nail guns and it hardly ever cut on and when it did it fill back up quickly. after finishing the cabnets. I sprayed 4 light coats of paint on them, it ran my spray guns with little effort. It is also the quitest compressor I've ever heard. So, even though I've only had it a couple of weeks I think I have given it a fair work out so far and I am very happy with my purchase. Time will tell.
