Can this be used outdoors?

Good for outdoor use?

I wouldn't recommend it. This is water resistant, not water proof. If you have any standing water on it for any extended period of time it will swell and separate.

Do I really need the "Accutite Wedge" kit for installation?

I already have a pull bar, tapping block, and spacers. I'd rather not purchase the wedge kit if I don't need to.
Asked by: Anonymous
If you have all of the other products that you list I would say NO. I did make my own spacers out of some 1/8 MDF that I had left over from a previous job.

what size are the individual squares?

The picture shows a square with 4 individual squares and the size is stated as 11-3/5 X 46-3/10 so is each square roughly 12X12 or 6x6? I plan to put this in an RV and do not want large pattern squares.
Asked by: alfredenewman
Each square is approx. 11.5"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value for Price Flooring has a nice finish and looks good when installed. It is much lighter than the photos but I expected that from other reviews. The finish is a light gray with some pink veining. Installation is hard to start, but once you get a couple of rows going it's easier. When you start to install, the end seams tend to separate on one corner which makes it impossible to install the next course of tiles. What I did was temporarily tape the first course of tiles together with duct tape, then put something heavy (another box of tiles) on top until I got the second course completed. Same for the second course - once I got the third course going it was smooth sailing from there.

The graphics makes it look like real slate but be aware that the texture is not like real slate. It has some texture but it does not match the pattern. It's not bad, just want to point that out. Once clicked together properly you do not see any seams and it does look like grouted tile. Installation can a bit difficult. Make sure to have a rubber hammer and wood block available to tap the pieces into place. Some may take more than just a tap :) This can be expected since these are 12" wide and take some force to get them to seat properly. Much more than regular 6"-8" wide planks. Also be sure to keep your wall spacer in place because as you "tap" them in place it can shift the whole floor towards the wall and your spacing can disappear. The only disappointment I have is that I feel the pattern repeats too often. Maybe the same pattern every 6 or 7 boards. This is not really unusual in any laminate flooring, it's just that some of the squares are fairly unique and stand out making any type of repeat noticeable. It's only a problem in a room that would have a wide open area where you can see a large section of floor. With designing graphics so inexpensive these days I'm not sure why any design is repeated this often. IMHO the repeat pattern should be spread out to 20 or 30 pieces. Overall I'm very happy with the floor and the repeating design is my only gripe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great floor at a great price! This floor is thick and installs easily. The boards link together very tight and it takes only a bit of tapping on stubborn ones to make it seamless. I used a rubber mallet and a piece of connecting board as not to damage the connections. I did need a magnifying glass to read the instructions. No surprises in there either. Be sure to use new saw blades as this stuff is very hard. I burned up 2 10in table saw 200 tooth blades on a 440 sq. foot room. I did have to cut 75% of the boards though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The final results are well worth the effort We are well-pleased with the final appearance of this product in our kitchen. The panels are manufactured very precisely and fit tightly with no visible cracks at joints. We had several people to assist with engaging the interlocking panels which must be carefully assembled. We found it advantageous to use a piece of scrap flooring as a tapping block to close any hair-line cracks without damaging the grooves. In tight spaces we used a flooring pull bar. Once assembled and adjusted, joints were virtually invisible. Care in installing the first three courses is important to success. The finished surface is textured and in color resembles cut, grouted limestone. The surface seems hard and abrasion resistant, but the panels cut easily with hand or power tools. We were aware that the product color is lighter than the web picture and chose this flooring based on its actual shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this flooring! After searching for almost a year for flooring for our basement , I finally found this online and took the plunge. It is extremely hard to find something that goes with honey pine walls, cabinets, trim, etc. but this did the trick. It is absolutely beautiful. Since we had never installed a click/lock floor before, this was quite easy once you got the hang of it (two sets of hands also help, but not necessary). The clerk at the store recommended an accessory kit which makes everything much easier, so do yourself a favor and get it. Well worth the $17 or so. I would highly recommend this product.
