Customer Questions & Answers

can I lay this flooring down over existing old linoleum and peel and stick tiles? or do I have to rip up all the old flooring?

Asked by: Anonymous
You can lay this flooring over existing floor vinyl or stick down tile. Just make sure everything is at the same level (IE if floor has multiple layers of flooring and some layers have been removed and others have not). I laid it over old stick-down tile in my kitchen and bath 2 years ago and it looks great. As long as your old flooring is at the same level, you will be fine.

Would this flooring be advisable for a bathroom also?

I am wanting new flooring in the bathroom as well as kitchen. Would this work ok for both?
Asked by: Anonymous
I installed it in my two bathrooms and have even had a commode over flow on it once to my horror, but it did not harm it at all and it still looks great. It has been down a couple of years and the overflow happened a year ago.

If they are the same product, why are priced significantly different?

You get what you pay for. Cheap laminate is not the same as expensive laminate.

I have a cabin that is left cold in the winter for periods at a time. Can I use this flooring or if not what can happen to it?
Asked by: Sue
I have a cabin also, that is cold most of the time in the winter. I have this flooring in my sunroom at home, however, I have used two different inexpensive laminates in my cabin. I have no problems in the winter, and only one spot that gets tight and buckles only slightly in the summer, when the moisture level in the cabin is high. The reason this happens is that I installed that section a little tight on the ends. In my opinion, you will be OK with any laminate, as long as you leave space all around for expansion and contraction. We have been very happy with this particular flooring, where we used it. It is a nice, thick, high quality floor.

I purchased this flooring because it looked much like a floor I used in my kitchen a couple of years ago made by Dupont, but is no longer available. Whereas the Dupont flooring was 10mm thick, this is 8mm. I found that the Dupont floor clicked together much better than this. Some gaps between panels were nearly impossible to remove; this didn't happen with the Dupont. This flooring appears to have a surface as hard as that of Dupont, but only time will tell.

The contractor had such a difficult time trying to install this flooring I stopped the project. According to the installer, the pieces are too wide and the tongue and groove joints are a struggle to join together easily and securely. In fact, several sections had imperfections in the corners of the pieces that prevented them from lying flat. Also, we discovered that two of the nine boxes contain damaged pieces. Yes, this Tuscan Stone laminate is an attractive product, but installing it is another matter--especially in tight spaces and under doors. In brief, I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this floor We paid to have ours installed and that worked well for us. We had this floor in another house for 8 years before we sold it. After living in our new house for 1 year, I couldn't stand the laminate that was here (it showed every mark from anything moved on it)--so we bought this kind again and I know I will love it because i loved it before. It is absolutely the best laminate floor out there. It comes in big sections and you cannot see the seams. It looks like stone and in my opinion wears like stone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from dissappointed We can only give the Innovations Tuscan Stone flooring 3 stars because of the noise it makes when we walk on it we love the look and the duribility and the easy installment but it creaks and pops when you walk on it its is very dissappointing when we spent the high price for quality flooring we tried to get ahold of Innovations but they never returned our call

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love m new floor We have a very large kitchen - 50' x 30' - part eat in and the other the cooking area, and installed this brand/pattern in the cooking area part. This is the 4th room we've used this in and if it holds up as well as in the other 3 rooms I'll be happy, happy, happy! Already have this in our large master bathroom, 2nd bathroom and laundry/mud room and so far it's held up well even with a ton of abuse. The mud room is used 90% of the time as the entrance into the house - kids, grandkids, pets, visitors - muddy, wet and snowy boots and feet, work boots with stones in the treads and NO problems! Just over 2 yrs. ago we had a slow water leak from under the wash machine that we only discovered after I found a large water puddle coming out from under it - must have dripped for days. Washer was moved and repaired and we waited to see the end results to the floor and let me say that the entire floor (over 2 yrs. later) still looks as good as when installed, and NO pieces had to be replaced. Hubby installed with very slight difficulty in only one area. We have a large island that is close to a row of cabinets and installing the last row under the cabinet overhang to abut with the kick plate was a little hard but doable. FYI - I dropped a VERY large, Very heavy cast iron skillet and did end up with a tiny indent/scratch which is only noticeable to me because I know it's there. Because of the great stone like texture; grooves and stone type indents; of this floor it if you touch that spot it just feels like the stone texture itself; there is no color difference at the indent. If this were a real tile it would have shattered. All in all I am extremely happy with this product and EVERYONE that sees it can't get over the fact it's not real stone.
