Hi, I have 2 fiberglass fish ponds (approximately 2 meters in diameter and 500 mm in depth) that I wish to re-paint, a couple of questions, do you have an outlet in Sydney Australia? if so, can I have the address? 2) is your product suitable? if so, which product would you recommend?

Hi. I am a consumer like yourself and I purchased swimming pool paint for an older in-ground pool that I have. Here's what I found. It fades with chlorine and sunlight. Since you have fish, that probably won't be as much of a problem. This spring I repainted with an exterior latex and got better results and ease of use. Sorry I don't have a pic handy. It was much cheaper also. Any oil base paint should suffice as well. I do not think that the oil base will affect the fish once it has dried sufficiently. Pretty much I am happy with exterior latex. If it fades or peels, simply repaint with a newer color or texture. I change mine about every year. Hope this helps.

Worked great for 4 years. Repainted last year and used citrus degreaser and the paint bubbled wherever the citrus cleaner was. It apparently penetrated the plaster. this year I pressure washed, stripped and repainted and the bubbles reappeared almost as badly soon after water hit it. Don't use citrus cleaner if there is any bare plaster just pressure wash, clean with original TSP and pressure wash again.

Every two or three years, I'll empty my in-ground gunite concrete pool, patch any problem areas, and paint it with INSL-X Ocean Blue paint. Just to paint a picture for you, the pool had already been painted by a previous owner before I purchased the house and I've been putting off jack hammering and re-plastering for many years now out of an overabundance of cheapness with a little bit of lazy thrown in to boot. The good: The paint is way cheap compared to a lot of pool paints out there. It covers well and looks amazing for a while. I've had no problems with the paint flaking or bubbling -- apparently that happens when you put acrylic paint over other kinds but you can do your own research there. I'll usually do two to three coats, maybe seven gallons of paint to cover my 25,000 gallon pool. The bad: Using chlorine tablets, I find that the paint fades to white within months. Okay, so I'm probably using too much chemicals and don't generally do my due diligence in terms of testing the water regularly, plus I live in an area with very hard water. It's not a deal breaker for me. The pool looks amazing for the summer after I do it, and not bad for the next two years afterward. The paint is cheap enough that, when it's time to empty the pool, I might as well repaint it. If you're expecting the color to last for years, you might be disappointed. Your mileage may vary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product This paint saved our 63 year old pool. Had many issues with small cracks and unsealed worm out cement. Followed the directions on the manufacture sheet and worked perfectly! Even called there customer service line a couple times and received AMAZING customer service help. Beyond happy with the product and service. The only other option we had was to resurface the entire pool which would have cost thousands of dollars. Highly highly recommend this product!

The real test will be this summer season with the hot sun and paint retaining the good color it has now. I did notice last weekend the paint felt pretty slick or slippery when moving about in the shallow end. My review will hold much more substance when the swim season winds down in the fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Awesome paint. I was going to go with a pool store paint but way more $$..great quality ..i powerwashed and used tsp to prep, didnt worry about getting all existing paint off. i have a 30x18 pool and took 3.5 gallons. Going to do second coat tomorrow. Should take half that due to concrete not being so porous .

Looks like it will hold up for at least 3 years. We did a acid wash then tsp. Let it dry for a day, then painted the next day. We waited 5 days then added water. Pool looks great and brand new!
