Where exactly do I pour this? In the drain by the washer which backs up or the main drain that the Plumber snakes?

Asked by: Mimi
You can use Main Line Cleaner in either drain but it is best to pour it in the drain closest to the clog.

can I pour instant power main line cleaner down the washing machine drain?

My washing machine backs up into the tub can I pour this directly into the washing machine drain?
Asked by: duca
Yes, you can use it in the drain behind the washer, that's usually between your hot and cold faucets for the machine. I guess the people above think you want to pour it into the washer, but yes, you can pour it into the drain. remove the drain hose from the drain, and pour directly into the drain.

I bought this after having a main line clog that was backing up my kitchen sink, shower, toilet and bathroom sink. I was skeptical as a plumber AT Home Depot told me that the only thing that will work is a big professional drain snake. I poured the first bottle down the shower drain and waiting 8.5 hours. This did not clear the clog. I poured boiling water down the drain, then ran hot water for a few minutes and it filled back up. I then poured a SECOND bottle down the left side Kitchen Sink drain. I let this sit for around 11 hours. Worked perfectly. The clog was gone, all drains worked normally. 100% worked on a tough clog using 2 full bottles.

I had my septic tank pumped out and looked in the access hole where the septic tank discharges and water was running back into the tank and not discharging. I probably over did it but when your septic tank is not working no one is happy, I used 4 gallons. after pumping the tank out I slowly poured one gallon in the access hole downstream of the septic toward the lateral lines, I waited overnight and poured a second gallon in slowly. I noticed the liquid was running out to the lateral lines the correct direction. I applied the other 2 gallons the next 2 nights before bedtime while the septic tank was still not full. Its been about 3 weeks and everything is working well.

The main line from our house was clogged, and the plumber said it would cost $400 to fix it (Roto Rooter). So, we tried this product over night. Actually, we used two bottles and put it in the floor drain in the basement. The drainage was slow, and would sometimes overflow on to the basement floor when it could not keep up. After we pored in the two bottles and waited 12 hours, all worked well!!!!!! I'm still amazed. I tried this product because there was no risk.....it's free if it doesn't work. Looks like I won't be getting the two gallons for free!!!! It worked Great!!!!! I'm happy to pay! I'm amazed!!!!!

I had a stubborn drain line blockage somewhere downstream of a basement bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) that also drained the kitchen upstairs. I had tried plunging, a bottle and a half of Draino Max Gel and a bottle of Zep over a two day period and could only get the water to drain down over a several hour period. Bought this Instant Power Main Line Cleaner at HD, slowly poured the whole bottle down the shower drain at about 7:00 PM and about 9:00 AM the next morning poured a pot of boiling water down the kitchen sink. Went downstairs and no backup in the shower stall. Ran more hot tap water in the bathroom sink and shower and everything was flowing better than normal. This worked where the other products did not!! I'll keep a gallon on hand from now on.

In our main bathroom we have a bath tub, separate shower, 2 sinks and the toilet. We flush floss and q tips down the toilet every day, which we will never do again. Started noticing that the bathtub began draining slowly and I just figured it was hair in the tub drain. Removed the plug and cleaned it out. Still did not drain. Then I noticed the shower not draining as well, and when you would use the tub the shower would become filled with dirty water. Finally, flushing the toilet caused it to come out of the shower and tub drains. I tried some chemical cleaners ranging from $15-$26 and they didn't work. I tried snaking the tub and shower, and it did not help at all. I even tried snaking from the 2 roof vents that the bathroom has and it didn't work. Call me stupid but I tried to use the same drain cleaners again and they did not work. I bought 4 gallons of Instant Power Main Line Cleaner. I put 1 gallon into the shower drain, and 1 gallon into the tub drain at 2:30PM. The other two were for backup. At 9:30PM I poured 5 gallons of boiling hot water down the tub drain and the shower drain. Immediately I could see that the drains were still plugged up. I waited 5 minutes and checked on the drains. The water was still there. I waited another 5 minutes and checked. The water was still there. I WAS VERY ANGRY! I bought it because of so many good reviews and the money back guarantee. I waited another 5 minutes and checked. The water was gone. I didn't get my hopes up. I took the removable showerhead off and put it into a bucket and let the water run until it was hot. I then let the hot water go into the tub. NO CLOGGED DRAIN! Ran hot water on the tub, shower, and both sinks for 5 minutes, NO backup whatsoever! I flushed the toilet and no issues! I am a firm believer in this product and have 2 gallons to keep in the garage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Main Line Cleaner I spent two days under the house replacing all the waste lines except the main with PVC. When I finished I found that over the years, the old cast lateral line connecting the washer and sink to the main was completely stopped up with kitchen grease. I first tried another major brand drain opener and after eight hours, nothing. Bought this product from Home depot for less than twelve dollars and so thankful I did. Another eight hours and did five loads of laundry with no problems. Great stuff. Worth every penny. l sure didn't want to crawl under the house again.
