Added other drain cleaners but didn't work. Can I use this?

Over the weekend I added a full bottle of Drano to my shower drain, but it didn't work. There is still standing water in the pipe. I have poured 3-5 gallons of boiling water in, but the drain is still clogged. Is it safe to use this product a few days later even though there is still water in the pipes/drain? It is either try this or call a plumber, and I don't want to spend the $ if this works, but don't want to cause a chemical explosion either. thanks!

For a small clog, leave it for an hour. For a big one, do over night.

My hair clogs the drain in the shower and I hate cleaning it out because I usually do it with a drain snake and it's gross. So I've let the clog get worse and worse and my tub hadn't been draining in months. Gross, I know. A coworker told me about this stuff and it lives up to its claims. They offer a money back guarantee because they know it works. I put in two cups and let it sit over night, as the directions stated. By morning, it was draining perfectly. This is a million times better than drain-o, and half the price. This will be the only drain cleaner you ever need. Also, it doesn't say it on the directions, but this stuff can make PVC pipes brittle, so just make sure you really flush the pipes out after.

I used this for the shower drain at my gym. It's a local gym and they don't really take care of the shower. I figured since I use it 5 days a week, what's spending $20 for cleaning supplies going to hurt. Better than getting infections. Anyways, first I snaked the shower drain and let me tell you how much hair came out! In addition to hair there was some black sludge which I looked up. It's call bio slime which is a cluster of bacteria usually from organic matter often combines with soap, mold or mildew. To the point, I snaked the drain and poured this stuff down the drain. I let it sit for an hour. Turned on the shower to get the hottest temp. At first it didn't seem to work and the water came up. I let it sit for a minute and tried the water again. Everything went down the drain smoothly!! I am so happy. No longer standing in my filth when I shower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing else worked! For my tub that wasn't draining at all, I had tried a plunger, liquid plumber kit with plastic disposable snake, drano max, 3 ft snake (came back with nothing on the coil), but after reading reviews online about H&G I went to Home Depot and purchased. I put 1/2 bottle in the drain overnight, the next morning- still not draining. So, I poured the other half in and was praying. Put boiling water on and waited 20 mins...poured in a large pot of boiling water, and it went straight down! Thank you Jesus!!!!!

I peeled potatoes and onions, ran the garbage disposal, and suddenly the sink is clogged. Water won't drain. Ugh. I google "potato peels and garbage disposal" and learn that one should NEVER put potato peels down the kitchen sink. I tried 1.5 bottles of Drano, nothing happens. I tried baking soda and vinegar (based on all the youtube clips out there), and still nothing happens. In fact, the clog got worse. I went to Walgreens and bought a new plunger. Tried the plunger. Still nothing happens. I went to Home Depot and bought "Green Gobbler." Tried that, and still a very slooooow drain. By this point, I was ready to call a plumber. I went back to Home Depot, and was recommended this product. I followed the instructions on the container, and 15 minutes later the kitchen sink is back to normal. Yaaaay! Phew.

After two 2-cup 15 minute treatments the one gallon of water now drains in 23 seconds. Eight dollars bought me a 20% improvement. I don't know how long it would take if the drain were perfectly clear. May still opt for a snake when it backs up again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Answer to my Prayers Tub draining slow and used Liquid Plummer. Didn't do much. Ignored for weeks, dreading calling a plummer, until 5 inches of water was standing in tub when showering. Used little plastic snakeswith teeth, was too short, used a plunge and the 'volcano method .vinegar and baking soda. Seemed to make the clog worse. Saw this product and got it since money back promise.. Poured it in at 5 PM. Around 10 am, the next morning, I boiled the kettle. Poured it down and it kept draining. Turned on the shower and ran that. CLOG GONE. amazing. Will never use another product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHEW!! I have a dual kitchen sink with a garbage disposal. Woke up to standing water in both sinks from the dishwasher. Plunged.... nothing. Took pipes apart.... nothing. Snaked 10 feet into the wall.... nothing. Snaked 25 feet into the wall..... nothing. Poured half a bottle of this stuff flushed with boiling water the next morning.....very very slow drain. Poured the rest and flushed with boiling water the next day and A sound I never thought I would be happy to hear... water flowing out of my drain. Thank goodness cause my next step was a plumber! I used two small plates to cover the drain. The directions are intimidating so I was extremely nervous. So just be careful.
