I have a dual kitchen sink with a garbage disposal. Woke up to standing water in both sinks from the dishwasher. Plunged.... nothing. Took pipes apart.... nothing. Snaked 10 feet into the wall.... nothing. Snaked 25 feet into the wall..... nothing. Poured half a bottle of this stuff flushed with boiling water the next morning.....very very slow drain. Poured the rest and flushed with boiling water the next day and A sound I never thought I would be happy to hear... water flowing out of my drain. Thank goodness cause my next step was a plumber!
I used two small plates to cover the drain. The directions are intimidating so I was extremely nervous. So just be careful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by imurphy Best drain opener I've ever used
I had a clog past the trap where the tub and sink meet. I tried several other openers to no avail. I removed the trap and tried snaking it and it helped a little, but not much.
When I would pour a sinkfull of water down the drain, the tub would back up with a gross, smelly sludge from the previous owner's less than attentive care.
I put half the bottle down the sink drain and half down the bath drain. I let it sit for 16 hours while I was at work. When I came home, I filled the bath and sinks with hot water, and flushed trough. The first time, some sludge backed up. I flushed with water again and a little more backed up. On the third flush, clear water backed up. Success! A fantastic product and a savings from having to get a plummer!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kee Didn't work for me. Now I'm stuck with caustic chemicals in my kitchen sink
Had someone pour hamburger grease down my kitchen sink. The reviews were great and this was recommended by a HD employee so I gave it a go. It's been 4 days and the sink is still clogged. Now I will have to pay extra for the plumber because caustic chemicals were used. I should have just called a plumber from the beginning. I'm glad it worked for others though.

I had a clog in my bathroom sink the first time I used this product. My husband shaves in the sink and our drain is quit open so hair was going down the sink often. I tried many various ways to unclog this sink with various results. The baking soda / vinegar method didn't worked, so I tried to snake the clog, this only had little effect and the sink drain only slightly better. I had also tried other store bought products including Drano to no prevail. Being desperate I went to Home Depot and ask an employee what they would recommend. The result being this product. Let me tell you it was the best I had ever came across, I put it in at night and in the am I was completely unclogged and has been for over the last 8 months. I now had the same issue with my bath tub, my husband striking again with shaving in the shower and also I have root growth issues in my pipes. Amazing results again, a completely unclogged shower drain this morning! FYI-This product uses non-acid formulation. One of the main ingredient Sodium Hydroxide which is Lye. The other is Potassium Hydroxide. I will always go back to Instant Power, it is the best!

Oh my goodness, this stuff is a lifesaver. Before buying it, I had tried a plunger, Liquid Plumber, the Hair Snare, baking soda and vinegar and something called a Clog Cannon. NOTHING worked to open up the bathtub drain and sink in my 75 year old condo. I poured the entire bottle down the sink and bathtub drain, covered and let is sit overnight. The next morning, I ran hot water down the sink drain. Success! The real test was going to be the tub. The product recommends covering the drain with a non-metallic item in case there is an eruption. Do it! When I took the plastic bucket off the next morning, there was an eruption of the most disgusting black ick I have ever seen. It really looked like something from a horror movie. I ran hot water down the drain for about 10 minutes. Voila! I am no longer standing in ankle deep water when I shower.
