I don't know but would guess that your discharge line(s) are possibly PVC (which is what mine are) and it worked great for me. I had a blockage in my bathroom sink (behind the wall). After application and letting it sit for a full day (at least 24 hours) so that it had plenty of time to chemically reduce and break down the blockage, it did the job and the drain works as well as it did when it was new. Incidentally, this was in the master bath; we also have a powder room downstairs and two full baths upstairs... a total of 7 sinks of which mine in the master was the only clog. Suggest you use a double dose and let it sit (work) for at least a full day as I did. Otherwise you'll literally just be dumping money down the drain. Read Less

Yes our Hair & Grease formula will work on your home. Sometimes older homes with cast iron pipes will have some corrosion in the pipes and the "gunk" could be holding the pipe together. Our product should get rid of the "gunk", and this could cause some leaks in your pipes. You might try a cup or two in one drain and see how it does, before using on the second drain. Answer:
Our house was built around the same time (late 60s) and we did not have any problem with this product. The active ingredient, sodium hydroxide, is very harmful to animals and plants, and may damage glass but has little effect on plastic and no effect on iron pipes.

Answer:
use a snake first - chemical removers can be dangerous to use or snake the pipe while still full of drain cleaner. I always prefer to use mechanical means first - for hair , I like the the zip rods

I did not have to use a snake after using this product. My bathtub was clogged with hair and one cup did the trick. I did allow it to work for about 10 hours and then used very hot water (tea kettle amount) after using it.

Yes, I had a tough hair clog in my bathtub and it cleared the clog. When I tried to snake beforehand, nothing would come up (guess the clog was too far down), but there wasn't a need to snake after either. I used it at night around 11pm and at 6am flushed it with hot water. Tub is like new again.

No it only breaks down small particles of hair. If your drain is clumped with a year long amount of hair it must be removed by snaking the drain.

Answer:
Hair & Grease Drain Opener is safe to use in a bathtub drain and a sink drain. It should not stain the tub or sink because the product should be left in the drain not in standing water. If you are worried about discoloration, you can put a light layer of Vaseline on any areas of concern before you use the drain opener.

Your question is phrased a little ambiguously - I'm assuming you mean you have washed leaves and grass from the pet bed into a drain, not that you are planning to apply the product TO the pet bed. If it is the latter, do NOT apply this to a pet bed, it would dissolve the bedding and be highly toxic to your pet. I believe it would clear grass and leaves from a drain with no problem, just be sure to follow Read More

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Kitchen Sink! I've had water standing in my kitchen sink for 3 days now. My slumlord doesn't fix anything so it was up to me. I tried this product based on the reviews and I am more then satisfied!!! It worked in 2 mins!!! I recommend this to everyone. June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It works! this product is amazing. We had a terrible clog in our bathroom shower you would have to turn off the water in the middle of the shower to let the water go down. We used the product as directed waited 7 hours then flushed with hot water and bam!!!! No more clog!! Best part I didn't have to call a plumber and waste money! June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Should have skipped the cheap stuff Our apartments drains never drained right from day one and after many months of trying to clear them with cheaper products I finally went to Homedepot with a mission... I saw this was in a plastic bag and had cross bones on it and thought "this stuff has got to work"... we tried the worst drain over last night and it drains so beautifully, we cheered. If you want to cheer at 5:30 am over plumbing, get this. May 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked!! Product worked exactly as needed. The reviews prompted me to purchase this product. i had a slow bathroom sink drain for the past several months and tried a few other products without completely fixing the problem. I followed the instructions for Instant Power and left the product in the drain overnight. The next morning the water drained without any back up. June 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works like a charm! Had a drain clog in my shower so I decided to pick up some of this at homedepot. For the price and volume It made sense to get this. I knew it was mostly hair that was blocking my drain. I poured this into my drain and within 30 minutes I came back and flushed it down with hot water and that was the end of my clog drain problems! Pros: Big size works well works with almost all plumbing systems Cons: NONE May 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing product This is the only drain cleaner that I could get to clear my drains. Very affordable. Clears drains after one use. June 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's true, this stuff works! This product was easy to use, with high quality concentration, at a great value. I have used other products, and it did not work. I consulted with plumbers, they wanted $500 to cut my pipes. Then I remembered a product my sister recommended; she couldn't remember the name. I began searching the web. I read the reviews, and took a picture of this product, sent it to her, and my sister confirmed this was it. I purchased it, applied it, and the next day, I start praising the Lord, for chemist!
