Will it clear partially clogged drain?

My bathroom sink drains slowly; it seems to be partially clogged. Since this would bypass the partially clogged area, will it help drain the water faster?
Asked by: Granover
Seems to. I use it on a regular basis on the shower and tub drains to keep it from building up. Works. I use it once every 3-4 weeks

The kitchen sink was clogged with grease and the water was draining extremely slow. i used a snake but could not unclog it, i was frustrated so i searched on Home Depot for drain openers and i came across this product. what influenced me on buying "Instant Power" was the great reviews it has. i went back home and followed the instructions on the bottle. the instructions suggested 2 cups for clogged kitchen sink with a 15 minute wait before flushing it with hot water. i was skeptical about such a short time of 15 minutes and the suggested amount of 2 cups so i used the entire 67.6 onces and waited about 10 hours (over night). woke up in the morning and boiled a big pot of water and pour it down the kitchen but the problem persisted. After coming back from work i had already planned to cut the pipe down in the basement and try to use the snake and hope to unclog it. At around 9:45pm i decided to boil more water. i poured the hot boiling water in the kitchen drain and noticed the water started draining a little quicker than before, so i boiled more water and poured it down the drain. After the second pot of boiling water, the water was draining normal, i decided to boil one more pot and while the pot was heating up i let the hot water from the tap run in the kitchen drain. i COULD NOT believed how smooth the water was draining. i let the tap hot water run for a while to make sure the pipe was entirely flushed. i poured the hot boiling water into the drain and that was it, no more clogged kitchen sink. i hope my experience helps someone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed After trying every single different type of Draino and not getting any results, I opted for something a little more extra strength. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give this a try (especially since it was so affordable) and it did not disappoint! I did as the directions instructed, left it sitting overnight and then ran hot water through it. All my hair, dog hair, all the gunk in there was gone and my tub drained immediately! Very pleased with my purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly surprised and pleased! My sink was backing up horribly with the dishwasher and even running a trickle from the faucet. I tried everything, 2 gallons of the vinegar and baking soda trick, then multiple, "guaranteed" "professional strength" drain cleaners. NO LUCK! I was forced to clean up during and after Thanksgiving using a small utility sink in my laundry room. Can you imagine?!? I just knew I was doomed to an expensive plumbing call I just couldn't swing. After 2 weeks of stressing, I found this stuff online. It actually popped up on my Facebook feed. Lo and behold, it worked the FIRST TIME! I did have an "oh no it didn't work" moment when I first started flushing the drain, but then things started flowing as they should. I had contacted the company with some questions before I used it and did have to use more than the bottle stated because my blockage was far down. I wish I had known about this product before all of the wasted money and stress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best drain opener on the market This stuff really works. We had a difficult, clogged drain on our terrace. Two applications and everything flowed freely -- this was the only product that worked. It's wonderful.

For the past two months I've been battling a slow-draining bathtub in my old apartment. I tried three top-rated Consumer Reports drain cleaners, giving each at least two applications. Didn't help. I tried a Zep enzyme treatment with at least three applications over about two weeks. Didn't help. Then two weeks ago, I purchased Instant Power from Home Depot. The first application showed some improvement so I tried a second treatment the next day, each for the recommended overnight period. For the past 10+ days, my bathtub drains perfectly during each use. I'm a convert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING! WOW! YES! After 4 days, 2 bottles of other liquid plumbing aids, nothing. I pulled apart the pipes under my kitchen sink, made a huge mess. Tried to snaked the pipe 25ft,nothing, it was a nightmare, and another mess. The snake did nothing. Then a friend reccomended Hair & Grease. Poured half the bottle down my drain. Waited about 5 hours, then cup by cup, poured boiling water down the drain. It filled up, and after about 15 min. it ever so slowly started to drain. I then poured the rest of the boiling water in my sink.....and watched. After about 5 min. it bubbled and went down, right down! My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief. I think H.D. needs this right up front. Right when you walk in. This is by far the best, a huge money saver (no plumber). Everyone needs to know about this product.
