Will the EJ500 fit into a single gang (single switch) box / How tight will it be? The width seems to be 1/16 inch less than the width of a standard one gang box. Is there a timer that is narrower that I should consider? Note: I need a timer that does not require neutral wires.
Asked by: HomeOwner1
Yes, I was able to install the EJ500 into a single gang metal box - no problems.

CAPACIY OF EJ 500

WILL THIS CONTROL 8 OUTDOOR FLOOD LIGHTS?
Asked by: BERNIE
In order to answer your question, I would need to know the total wattage of the 8 lights. If the total wattage is less than 1500 watts, then yes it will do the job. If your total wattage is more than 1500 watts, consider changing some of the out to LED lights to get the wattage down and then it will work.

Is the 4 amp timer unit (EJ500) suitable for installation on a 15 amp household lighting circuit?

Asked by: Smac
Yes, as long as the total wattage on the timer is less than 1500 watts. If it isn't, then consider changing a few bulbs out to LED lights to get the wattage down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK Horrible device. Display is nearly impossible to read (I had to try using a magnifying glass). Programming is convoluted to the extreme. The computation for Sunset is very general which caused me to have to 'game the system' by mis-setting the actual time to get the lights to come on before dark. Once set, it worked well for a number of years, however, when I wanted to change the programming, it failed to respond to commands, would not reset to factory settings. I bought a replacement unit made by a well respected electronics manufacturer and have been delighted, it is everything this piece of junk was not: easy to program, back lit, easy to read with normal reading glasses, has a precise computation for sunrise/set based on your Latitude and Longitude.
