This made in Canada tool chest is very well built for medium duty. I would say that the construction is far better than competitive models but if you want pro level go with International's 'SHD' series and subsequent higher cost. Draw sizes just right. Fit and finish excellent. As other's mentioned, the drawer detents are a little aggressive however I figured out that if I leverage my thumb on the drawer above the one I want to open and pull on the handle with my fingers, the drawer opens effortlessly. Closing the drawer does shift the tools around a bit if you close the drawer too fast. Once you train yourself on drawer handling, it no longer becomes an issue.
Had this tool chest 'Curbside' delivered. Driver offloaded pallet and rushed me to signoff before I had the chance to open and fully inspect the shipment. By the time I had opened the box, the driver was long gone. To my dismay, the front right corner was bent in and the side dented in. The lower right hand draw binds somewhat. I was able to get some of the bent corner realigned to allow the drawer to operate but now I have a 'B' goods tool chest. This is total carelessness on the behalf of the shipper and unacceptable.
I brought this issue to the attention of Home Depot customer service. They promptly got back to me and generously offered to remediate this problem. The customer service reps I talked to were completely helpful and resolved this issue to my complete satisfaction. You don't get this type of quality service often and Home Depot should be recognized for having such an excellent Customer Service department and systems in place to resolve issues. You certainly earned my loyalty to be a continuing Home Depot customer!

I purchased this cabinet for the sale price of $749,00 plus tax. I had it shipped to the store for free since I had the equipment at home to unload it easily. The cabinet came well packaged. I was told that these cabinets are assembled as they are ordered, so no excuses for it to arrive damaged. One of the reasons that I chose this cabinet over others is the depth which is 24.5 inches. Most others are closer to 18-20 inches. As others have stated the casters seemed cheap compared to other brands. No grease zerks for example and self tapping screws vs. bolts. Even though it only comes with one side handle at least you are able to choose which side you would like to mount it on, a feature lacking on several of the competitors. Drawer liners came already cut to fit. I bought a standard size laminate counter top for $40.00 to put on top since I do not plan to purchase the top chest. All in all I'm very happy with this cabinet. I wish I knew how to add a picture, I have some nice ones with the cabinet with the top, but unfortunately I'm a 20th century man living in the 21st century.

This is a very well built and nice box for the money. May not be snap-on or matco but its built just as well as my old craftsman pro ball bearing box.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by edog69 it is ok, good for the money
It looks nice.and the droors are a good depth. For my money I would rather have this than a snap-on classic 78, just because the snap-on has a ridiculous price tag. The worst part about this box is the droor detents. You try to open a droor and the whole box moves. I had to attach the box to the wall because it was so annoying. Then all your tools slide to the rear of the droor every time you pass the detent. I got so mad that I took a flathead and removed 1/2 the detents. They pry right out (made of plastic). It almost works well now but tools still slide around. Would work better with no detents at all. Where the droors lock the metal is flimsy. If you forget it is locked and tug on the droor hard enough to overcome the detent, it is possible to bend the locking mechanism a little. Other than that, the droors can hold good weight. The slides are smooth, it feels solid, it weighs a ton. The lock and key are good quality. Droors are alot deeper than craftsman pro series. For the price you can't beat it. Anything better costs twice as much. I am a 10 year professional mechanic and I would buy it again. I just wish the droors had a latch and not a detent.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DIYer Good buy for the money but......
The tool box is built very well and will serve it's purpose in my garage. However the handle for the tool box was not made correctly and will not line up with the holes in the tool box. They are crooked and off by about 1/2". I took the handle back to the store and the lady was very helpful and said that someone would be emailing me but I have never heard anything back from anyone. now I have to make another trip into the store and complain again. Usually there is a number in the instructions telling you to call this number do not take back to the store for missing parts, damaged parts, etc. but not in this case. I do like the tool box but this handle is turning out to be a pain in the butt......Also the holes for the casters were tapped from the inside of the tool box out so the screws for the casters did not want to start and we had to re-tap them for them to work.

I bought a cheap toolbox a few years ago and regretted it - this box is great and from Home Depot didn't cost that much more. Highly recommended!

Over the years have I owned Snap-On and Matco tool boxes. I hated my Snap-On and sold my Matco to a friend. I didn't feel like making large payments on something that doesn't make me money. But now I needed a larger box and came across these. For the price I couldn't pass up this deal.
Pros: Cost is huge. It's almost impossible to find this size box for under $2000. Depth is also great. Most commercial sold boxes are only 18" deep. Overall size. It has lots of room for all sorts of tools.
Cons: The sheet metal that forms the drawers are a little thin, but as long as your not throwing tools at the sides no big deal. Height. I'm only 5'10" but it seems as though I am leaning over while working on the top. Wheels. Made of plastic and not high quality. Plus they are held on with self tapping screws. Buy some 5/16" nut and bolts and do it right.
Over all I am very happy with this box and I believe it will last a long time. I am an auto body tech and I us this box everyday. Lastly the detentes on the drawer slides. They are very strong and annoying. Before filling the box remove a couple drawers and flip the detentes on the back of the slides. Their white and look like claws. Just push them back so their out of the way. You can still lock the drawers and use as normal.
