I had been looking at many different brands and styles of boxes and finally decided on this one. I really like the way the left and center banks of drawers are sized the same. Obviously the large bottom drawer is the exception as far as size goes.
I like to be able to split my tools into metric and SAE and most boxes I was looking at only had one bank of wide drawers and one or two banks of the narrow ones. Or there were a few 1.5 inch deep drawers then the rest were 4 and six inches deep. Those boxes just don't work for the way I want to lay things out.
The really wide drawer works perfectly for all my sockets. The only issue I came across was with my 1/2 impact sockets on a Mechanics Time Saver rail, they were about 1/16 inch too tall. That was easily remedied with two magnetic bars at the back of the drawer and now I have the rails for my shallow sockets when I finally get those.
The rubber liners do allow the tools to shift if the drawers are opened or closed quickly, so I just open and close them slowly and the problem is solved. The drawers were a little stiff feeling at first, but after they are loaded the are very smooth. This is something I have seen and heard happen with even the Snap On boxes so it isn't something that concerns me.
I included some pictures to show how much room there really is with this box. If you go to the SPG International website and download the catalog it has the drawer dimensions listed at the back.
I did catch some grief over the brand from one of the other mechanics but he is a Snap On homer and thinks that anything else is a waste of money. The value of this over one of the truck brands is phenomenal. Had I chosen an SO brand I would have been up in the 8-10k price range to get the drawers arrangement I would have liked. I would rather spend that money on tools that make me money than be able to look at the box.
If you order this make sure you have a good size trailer to haul it home. I used a car trailer and plenty of straps. I believe the ship weight on this is close to 900 pounds. It comes in a wooden crate that also serves as a pallet and keeps the casters off the ground. I had to dismantle the box and pop it off the boards before I could manuever it off the trailer. Uncrating it took maybe 10 -15 minutes. Grab some friends to help ease it off of a trailer or at least make sure the new car isn't parked behind the trailer in case it gets away from you. With the exception of the drawer liners, the grab handles on each end, and the small plastic drawer handle end pieces, it came fully assembled. One note on the grab handles, the bolts are self tapping so just run them in with a cordless impact or driver tool. They didn't want to start easily with a ratchet.
Overall I would say this was money well spent and it fits my needs and organization philosophy perfectly.

It is a solid box.lots of storage. My only complaint is that four of the drawers rub when opening and closing even when unloaded.when spending that much on a tool box the drawers should not rub.other then that no problems
