Questions & Answers

Are there holes in the bottom?

According to the review titled "Exactly what I was looking for.", there are tiny holes in the bottom of the extension part to disperse water. Is that true? I'm hoping to get water away from our house instead of a little of it leaking out near the house.
Asked by: Kevin
no rain comes from the sky holes in the bottom would not catch it you might need a sump pump they have holes in the bottom

Can You drive over them?

I need something to carry the water from a downspout on the up hill side of my driveway to the lawn. It's a distance of about 15 feet. This would traverse the driveway and we would have to drive over it or be able to move it easily, once or twice a day. I'd only need it in the Winter when the runoff from the downspout pours across the driveway and freezes at night. Do you recommend this product as a solution to my problem?
Asked by: Annie
Don't think I would drive over it regularly, especially with a hard surface underneath.

Can these extensions be left on all year long even in freezing weather?
Asked by: matureshopper
Yes. A portion of mine (the flat section) is covered with top soil. I live in Michigan. If any residual water does freeze in the extension it has room to expand and shouldn't damage the product.

There is a joint where the ribbed extension meets the angled downspout attachment. It is no where near a tight/water proof connection. So nearly no water makes it out the end and instead leaks out at that joint. I would highly avoid this if you are serious about getting water away from your house. Until they make that a water tight sealed connection. Stay away. It is a great idea, just extremely poorly manufactured. Also I would not recommend stepping on it or even rolling an empty wheel barrow over it. It is not that sturdy.

Very easy to install and being low profile you don't have the big round tube running across the top of your shrub bed. I wish they would redesign the extensions so that when you cut one to the length you need you could also use the piece left over for another extension.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! Purchased this product because the rain water from my gutter was draining onto my porch. Installing this extension was quick, easy, and the water is now safely redirected to the grass on my lawn.

The connection from the downspout to the first extender was good throughout. The additional connections did not seem to be tight. There was considerable leakage at several connections throughout the 15 ft span I intended the system for. The idea is fantastic, but it needs some work. It is not as strong as some of the advertisement. I really wished this would have been as easy as was advertised. I am considering caulking the seams to see if that will make it better.

Supposed to slide into each other and snap. Tough to do when both pieces are the same blasted size. Tried trimming the connector without success. Tried everything short of duct tape. And when I went to throw it in the trash I found that the worthless thing can't even be re-cycled. Poor design and manufacture.

Took the water from a downspout and ran it under the mulch in a planting bed and discharged it to the edge of a sidewalk where it disperses across the sidewalk and onto the lawn. There is a slight hump where the mulch covers the extension but much better than any round extension would have looked.

The product performed well but, the middle piece / extension cracked after 6mos the only reason I bought another one was, I was NOT able to purchase that part separately since I had someone coming to put it together and on the down spout I HAD to buy the entire item. I would not recommend this unless the parts are replaceable
