Simply said: This unit is terrible. Can't connect to the controller reliably without resetting the unit. Can't connect via the cloud without a major understanding of networking. Tried to reach out to the company for help but there is no phone number, only an email. They NEVER got back to me.
The product sounds nice, but it does not work as it should.

The Irrigation Caddy is horrible. Plain and simple. It is too expensive and works too poorly for it to be worth it. The user interface both on the computer and smartphone is totally horrible and doesn't work well at all. I have had it for two years and it has been a pain the entire time. Unless you understand computer networking very well and how to connect everything, it will be almost impossible to get it to work right. Even if you understand it, it still doesn't have a slick, easy to use program.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by FarmerBob Seems too good to be true. It's not true . . .
Although I got a really great deal, once up and running this unit did not perform as implied or advertised. Since that, I was offered a "freeish" (I pay all shipping, including prearranged return) Firmware upgrade to a v2 model by sending it to the manufacturer and once I got it back, I had to update the software, that should have been done on their end, to fix bugs from the newly upgraded firmware. The update installed even more bugs or didn't fix ones as it was suppose to. The user upgrade process is like that of the early 80's, nothing like the ease of electronics today. Illogical, convoluted and cumbersome. Once updated many problems. Tech Support is right there with simple problems that can be easily fixed. But more monumental of their own doing, good luck getting any substantial help. For the price this unit should be WaterSense approved and with better Tech Support, but no. The mobile device apps are haphazard at best, using a web browser and it's local IP address is far easier, but very restrictive in offsite remote control.
The WiFi connectivity is mediocre at best. I had to buy a larger antenna, that unfortunately they chose to use an uncommon connector that does not have the standard center pin that one finds on most all U.S. communication devices. I had to get an adapter that would allow the use of "local" common after market antennas which only got in the way of "upping" the range a bit. But it worked. In the end the antenna was bigger than the unit itself.
Set up, although it's suppose to be easy through any WiFi enabled device, I had to use a laptop and direct connect to get past many quirky set up issues.
The UI (User Interface) is pretty but lacks many useful features that are the purpose of a unit like this and is pretty glitchy. No real weather station interaction that does you any good. Response of the UI is not optimal and there is no way of telling whether the system has fired off other than looking for a wet lawn. I have seen several similar foreign made units on Alibaba and others that use the same box and display panel. So I have a feeling this is an industrial clone.
Tech Support is there when it's easy, but not when you really need them.
I just replaced this unit with a far more expensive unit that, with most all I am finding, has its drawbacks, but it is WaterSense approved so I can get a rebate to help ease the cost. Just hope it works better than this one. The only real advantage with the IC-W1 is on the spot remote control. No hypertechy features that one would expect for this price.
I was planing on pawning this White Elephant off on a neighbor that has a really bad controller, but am really concerned about ruining our friendship.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MSS Customer support is terrible!
I will begin by saying that the produce itself is fine. I don't have issues with how it works. The customer service is terrible. This product is not ready for prime time. First of all, it constantly disconnects from wifi and then won't connect back up without going through the process multiple times. They don't offer a phone number to call for support - only email. Their response to email support is days or more. After trying for the past several months to make this work, I am going to a different product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Eric Excellent controller
I have had nothing but excellent support from the folks at Irrigation Caddy. I had a few questions that were promptly answered before purchasing it. Simple install and works well. I especially like that it's a stand alone unit that doesn't require connection to a remote server. You can utilize a cloud connection, but it's optional. Whenever I invest in home automation, I want to ensure that the unit will continue to function, even if a company's server is down for whatever reason.

Very easy to install. Works great. I did have to google how to set up the cloud feature. Highly recommend!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pete8314 A good product, though it could be so much more.
I hated my old sprinkler controller, for whatever reason every time spring came around, I had to re-learn how to work it, and even then, it was a bit of a black art. I picked up the IrrigationCaddy on a special offer from HD, and switch out my old unit for it. If you're just looking for an easier way to control your sprinkler, then this is it - installation was easy (though read on), and the web browser, while fairly basic, does the job.
My issue is that it could do so much more. The photo on the packaging shows the app running on a tablet. Well, that's an option, if you want to pay another $3.99 for an app that get's an average of 2 starts. This is a premium system, so it's kinda cheesy to make another couple of bucks from an app, especially one so poorly reviewed. Secondly, although the installation is easy enough, it looks a little 'homemade'. The wire terminals are exposed, which means that achieving a tidy finish for the cables is very difficult. See my photo to see what I mean, that was the best I could do, after quite a bit of effort and another visit to HD. Finally, this thing is on-line, so why doesn't it watch the weather forecasts? The last thing I want is to water my lawn, then have it rain an hour later. This information is out there, and it's free, so I hope they build in this intelligence soon. It does hook up to a rain sensor, but we all know how well those things work, and they certainly can't forecast anything.
So, in summary, it's good, and solid, but it's lacking the 'coolness' that something like a Nest thermostat has, for example.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 1inventor Appear to be going out of business.
I have written emails that they have confirmed known bugs and that will get back to me on. That was after months of trying to prove to them the problem was in their software. Big problems like when you put in zone names the unit stops working. It done not report water flow with a flow meter as represented. It does not work with the weather updates from the water services and waters when it is support to.
I was very pleased with my unit initially and over a year ago it was ahead of many of the irrigation controllers that worked with the internet. Now it is one of the highest priced with the least features and most of all nonexistent customer support. I have email from Irrigation Caddy that prove they can confirm problems with their software they are going to work on then go silent for 180 day even when I write them every thirty days. These is no telephone number and they have not to me since June 2015 even though they promised to and I write them month.
Look for yourselves. They released 6+ updates to the software in Q1 and Q2 of 2015 and one in Q3 and none in Q4 even though software has major problems. You will see this is true on their own irrigationaddy.com website under documentation. Check on the Home Depot website on the comments from others after May 2015. I think they maybe Irrigation Caddy is going out of business. They work out a residence in Texas (again check the website address and google map it yourself KGControls LLC, 2606 Orsobello Place, Cedar Park, TX 78613). They are also in the tee shirt business and employee about 10 people.
I can't believe that Home Depot is still selling their product. I purchased over $30,000 of product for my home this year from Home Depot and it has Irrigation Caddy has tarnished the once unblemished reputation HD had with me. HD is at is core a distributor and Irrigation Caddy a vendor and if HD continues to sell problem that it knows are not fit for the purpose intended than I will end my 8 year relationship with HD and move my next year’s business to Loews.
This year I wrote over 20 positive reviews and only this one negative review. This is the first negative review I have written in over 5 year but I fell that people should know able this company and it dreadful customer support before they purchased the product and that is why I am writing it. I have purchased two of the units that were fully upgrade by Irrigation Caddy and running the current firmware.
Buyer be where.
Signed, a once very satisfied Home Depot customer.
