Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm Gonna Get Fat Now. I no longer have to walk back and forth to and from the controller while testing zones. I can stand anywhere I want and start/stop zones on my phone, laptop, desktop, or any other computer with internet capability, anywhere on the planet... This model, S1 is designed to run on a local network, directly connected by a CAT 5 cable. However, if you throw a wireless bridge in the system, the S1 becomes a wireless device. I used the ioGear Bridge, and it works like a million bucks. My controller is located about 300 feet from my farthest zone, My go-to form of communication with the controller is via my phone, and the app, AICMobile. Life is good, but my exercise routine just got slashed... June 1, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lacking features I understand the attraction to a web based controller, so I can turn the zones on and off with a phone app, or change the programming from a web browser. I changed this to a similarly priced ET evapotranspiration controller called the Hunter X-Core with the solar-sync weather station and it automatically adjusts the watering time based on proven ET weather station technology, and also turns the water off automatically when it rains. Just set it and forget it, and it saves water too. So why would I want to connect and adjust the schedule all the time with my phone app when I don't have to, I can find something better to do with my time. It also has a remote control available if you need it. July 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this product! My mom is disabled and had a hard time getting to the irrigation controller in the garage - which she'd have to do every time it would rain. I purchased the irrigation caddy after scouring the internet and not finding any inexpensive option (Rain Birds is not cheap and is for commercial installations). When I received the irrigation caddy, all I had to do was replace the wires that were going in the back of my old controller into the irrigation caddy. After plugging it in to my router and going to it's IP address, I was able to name each station and setup schedules. Better yet, I was even able to connect a moisture sensor so that when it rains, it would automatically turn off the sprinkler schedule. What's fantastic is that since I've purchased the irrigation caddy, I've provided tons of feedback to the manufacturer on improvements - which they not only listened to, but actually did better! You can now install firmware updates without having to be a tech expert, a wireless access point is now integrated and there's an app. This is convenient and definitely a must have for any home. Also, Gateway IP address is confirmed as correct. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot #3? ---------------------------------------------- From: IrrigationCaddy Support Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2014 9:21 PM To: Me Subject: [###] A customer support staff member has replied to your support request, ### with the following response: Hi, If you keep seeing the Empty Controller message it means the controller is not talking to the Cloud at all. There are a few known reasons for this. 1. The API Key or Controller ID is incorrect. 2. The Gateway IP address is incorrect on the caddy. 3. Your firewall is blocking internet connections for the caddy. If I had to bet I would bet on #1 Try re-copying and pasting the API Key and Controller ID again into the controller, save, then reboot it just in case. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it!!!!! Finally found an affordable web based irrigation controller! I was looking for something reasonably priced and easy to set up. The IrrigationCaddy is both. It just replaced my old manual controller so now I can change my programming, watch the progress or decide to turn my system on or off from my iPhone or laptop. After it arrived, I decided to call because I am not very computer savvy. I assumed I wouldn't be able to figure out how to install it but I have to admit I was shocked at how easy it was to get it up and running. The guy I spoke with was really helpful and friendly. Great customer service! I just ordered another one as a Christmas gift for my parents : ) September 28, 2013
