It is large and heavy, just what I needed for the umbrella on my deck.
I have ordered a second.

We received the umbrella stand in a timely fashion. It was just as it was described. It looks and works beautifully.

I bought the 80-lb. version of this exact umbrella stand, and it rusted out and broke in three months.
This stand does not have threads on the bottom of the tube which holds the umbrella pole and normally screws onto the base, but rather a crosspiece attached inside the bottom of the tube through which a bolt is inserted through the hole in the base and fastened with a nut. So the tube just sets atop the base and is held there only by the bolt. And it was unable to withstand the off-centered weight of a 9-foot umbrella at a tilt - resulting in the crosspiece breaking and rendering the whole thing useless.

This base indeed is 50 pounds. If the problem is fixed, it may be a good choice for those who are strong enough to move it when they want to change the placement of their umbrella.
The problem I encountered was after having for just two weeks, it started to rust. By week three the rust spread and it began staining my deck.
I called my local store, concerned because I didn't want to ship a 50 lb. item; moving it on my deck was almost impossible for me. I was very happy to learn I could return on online purchase to the store. For that I am grateful.
So in summary, the base needs a top coating or some fix to prevent rust. But Home Depot stores will accept online purchases and they were pleasant and helpful during the transaction!

The slightest breeze and the sleeve that holds umbrella loosens up and bends. The material is too thin and cheap to hold up.
