Does the slide bolt latch come with the door and if so what color is it?

Asked by: Smize2
If you mean the latch that connects the upper and lower doors. It's brushed nickel, like the hinges.

Asked by: Ro
JELD-WEN does not recommend adding a screen to our Dutch Fir Wood Front Door. There is not track to support a screen on the top of the door. Thank you for your inquiry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Door is great. There is a foam around the windows... Door is great. There is a foam around the windows that is a little unsightly but other than that it's a great quantity door and has met our expectations

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well built door. The door slab it's self is stunning. Very well designed and built. Should last for many years. The weatherstrip is fair. Will need some work to make it totally air tight. As there are a gap or two at the dutch door part and at the bottom of the door. The door frame is not sturdy enough for a dutch door and needed alot time spent shimming behind the hinges to make right. Also had to drive in 10 penny nails just above the hinges to keep the door solid. I feel that a hard wood door frame would work considerably better in this application. The little tiny supplied latch to keep the dutch doors together will need replaced as it is a pain to use. I feel for the money spent the door is ok. But they could have tried a little harder to wow me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looking door when all is said and done The door it self is made well the jamb was not the best made that I have installed it needed to be strengthen up But have installed door for over 30 years was/t a problem Install was easy The thing I do not like is the glue left on the window panes its hard to believe that the company would allow the excess glue The hardware is not the greatest it all will be replaced thats just me other then the slight problems I really like the the door

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what we wanted Beautiful door. I love it more than I expected to. Wow factor with out spending a fortune. Note for those concerned about security, the bottom cannot be opened without the top also being open. This resolved our locking questions. I didnt give this door five stars for two reasons. One - it is very hard to install. Its probably the nature of having 2 doors to line up in multiple ways but still, we needed 3 people and the better part of a day. Secondly- the glue securing the moulding to the glass had glue spilage. This is problematic to cut out and still paint/stain well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good looking value-priced Dutch door with some issues Overall for the price I think this door is a great product. It looks great installed and we've gotten a lot of positive comments about it. It took primer and paint well and looks like it'll hold up nicely. My issues with the door are: 1) The core problem is the hinges. They've got a lot of slop in the pins which leads the doors to sag considerably and either scrape the opposite jamb or bang into each other. I'll be looking to upgrade the hinges with a nice ball bearing unit and expect that'll significantly improve the performance. 2) There's a lot of glue mess around the lights (individual panes). It took some clean up work with a razor blade to get these looking. 3) While I didn't have trouble installing the door itself I have installed a few different doors so this wasn't my first time. 4) The latch to connect the two doors doesn't perfectly line up and so you have to jiggle things around to get it to work. All of these issues make sense given the pricing of the door but overall I'm pleased with the purchase and think I can get it to be perfect with a bit of work and upgrades.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dutch door The door seems good quality and looks good after the application of stain. However where the windows have been attached there is alot of mess around the windows which is very difficult to clean off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful built to last This is beautiful door arrived sooner than expected. My contractor was very impressed with the quality. I sealed it with a clear seal which enhanced the woods grain. I'm planning on getting another one for my garage.
