Product Overview

JELD-WEN Molded Interior doors now include a true Craftsman style door with flat panels and Craftsman sticking. These doors reflect the clean, unadorned, balanced design created over a century ago. They are the perfect choice for Bungalow or Craftsman style homes yet their clean, geometric lines also make them increasingly popular with contemporary style homes as well. Our factory-finish doors have a beautiful smooth finish that you cannot achieve by painting your doors with a brush. One way JELD-WEN supports sustainable construction is by using recycled materials in the production of our Molded Interior doors. why does it say 3 panels, it only shows 2 on each door.

Asked by: whattever
It's meant to 'match' a series of craftsman doors by Jeld-Wen. This is the matching bi-fold door that corresponds to their 3-Panel Craftsman Interior Door. It's bit confusing, but in the catalog, they're featured side-by-side and it makes more sense. It's simple a mate to a 3-Panel look.

It is core (hollow) with four wooden frames but covered with cardboard/composite material showing frail edges already. It is a hassle to paint this paper-liked material, very patchy with paint. Very disappointed. Size is not as specified, have to shorten length. We purchased 9 interior doors (wood) before and was very satisfied. But not this one.

Only issue was that there was a scratch on one of the panels which they attempted to paint over with a color that didn't match the door. This mismatch of color and scratch is obvious under certain lighting but we didn't notice until after installation. Why send a damage product?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They are what we thought they were; and we bought'em anyway! Bought two sets. They were clean and unscathed. Easy to install for a newb. They are hollow which means if you rest them on a corner, expect some damage. If you want high quality doors, spend more. If you want something nice to replace some old, dirty louvere doors left by the previous owner of the home, these might be right for you too. Takeaways: 1) don't balance them on the corners. 2) don't expect hollow doors to have the same quality as solid. 3) wife really likes them and hope to replace all our closet doors with these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, careful with shipping These doors look great with the pre-painted finish. Installation was pretty painless. Keep in mind these are still molded doors, so they can be damaged pretty easily. My recommendation is to buy two 36" doors instead of this 72" kit. The reason is because when they ship these, they box all the doors together. Two of the four kits I ordered were damaged. The 36" doors are packaged separately when shipped and they arrived without any damage. All in all a decent buy because they look and work great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I love this style, but when I received the door, it was really low quality, especially at this price. If it was a $50 door, I wouldn't be complaining. These are flimsy and very prone to damage. The white paint is matte, almost like primer, and every touch shows (should be a semi-gloss for wipeablity). I have the smallest size for a bi-fold door, and this door & hardware are so flimsy, it should've come with a full lower track. This feels odd every time I open it and I don't think the hardware/door will stand up to daily use. Even the door knob that came with it is cheap. Shame on Jenwen for charging so much for this cheepo product. I'm very disappointed (and frustrated because I haven't found another craftsman style).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great door for a Craftsman design room Nice door, simple craftsman details, easy installation. Only real complaint is the dimension information is very confusing, and even Jeld-Wen's customer service got it wrong. Despite what the HD description says, the door IS paintable. Would also be nice if they offered more sizes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy hardware / door fell apart within one year Doors had to be trimmed by Home Depot (according to the instructions of the manufacturer), and when I unpacked the box, there were large scuff marks from where the doors had been handled. Scuffs were on interior sides, so they weren't noticeable. Problems are with the hardware -- the very items that need to be engineered for heavy duty use -- are flimsy and not up to the task. The overhead track is made of thin metal, which flexed so much, that the mounting units that sit inside the track needed constant tightening. Within one year, the plastic pivots then snapped and the bottom edge of the door caved in. Knobs are flimsy and also needed to be tightened often. Very disappointed with both the manufacturer and with Home Depot. "Buyer Beware"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The doors look great These doors are a huge improvement over what was in the space before. One caveat - I strongly recommend you purchase the doors BEFORE building your door opening. The doors were advertised as 72 x 80. The installation instructions said to add 1/2 inch to the width and 1.5 inches to height for installation, so I had my contractor build the opening to 72.5" x 81.5". When the doors arrived, the carton read, "72 x 80 5/8". This concerned me, as I knew 81.5" would not be enough clearance if the doors were 80 5/8" tall. However, when I opened the carton and measured, the doors were actually 71.5" x 79". This means we had to add about an inch of wood at the bottom, so there is a fairly significant gap between the floor and the bottom of the doors. In my view, it is better the opening was too big as opposed to too small, as the doors were finished and I would not have wanted to "shave" them to make them fit. But the 72 x 80 more accurately represents the door opening and not the measurement of the doors themselves.
