what does "low-e" mean
Asked by: gary
Thank you for a good question. Low Emissivity Glass (Low-E) is manufactured by depositing a microscopically thin, transparent metal or metallic oxide layer(s) on the glass. Low-E coatings reduce radiant heat loss, and can reduce the passage of UV rays.

MODEL NUMBER OF THIS WINDOW W/GRIDS IN BETWEEN GLASS. CAN NON SLIDING SIDE BE REPLACED AFTER INSTALLED? PART NUMBER OF THIS ITEM? COST OF THIS ITEM?
Asked by: CUSTOMER1
Thank you for a great question. The sliding/operating side (sash) is easily removable. The stationary portion of this window features a glass unit that is installed directly into the main frame. The stationary glass may be removed but we generally recommend this work is performed by a trained residential glazing technician with experience in working on this product. Local providers should be available in your area and able to locate using popular searches available.

What are the dimensions of the nailing flange? How far beyond the rough opening will it extend?

Home Depot specs state that the net size is 47.5 x 35.5 but that would not work for installing in new construction.
Asked by: CLouise
Thank you for allowing us to assist you today. The nailing flange extends from the window frame 1”. If the sizes listed on the web-site will not work for you or you have need for window using retro-fit frame-types, a Home Depot special order may be a better solution for you. If either or both is the case, we encourage you and/or your installer to visit your local Home Depot store where a helpful associate may be able to assist you in placing an order for the desired product using the special order program instead.

Customer Reviews

35.5 in. x 35.5 in. A-200 Series Sliding Aluminum Window with Low-E Glass - White is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as advertised Purchased this window to replace an existing window in one of the properties I manage. The window I needed to replace is a flanged aluminum window measuring exactly 48 x 48 so it should be a simple replacement because HD caries a 48 x 48 window. Not so fast these windows are down sized as the HD associate explains "For your convinced so you can shim it" seriously it's a flanged window replacing an existing window where are the shims going to go? Well it should not be that big of a problem because it is only downsized by a half inch making it actually a 47-1/2 x 47-1/2 window still leaving enough flange to nail. So I get the window back to the house and it's too small because in reality it is not 1/2 in smaller it is 1-1/4 in smaller than the existing window so now with the variance in the existing opening I don't have an adequate flange to nail to. So because apparently no-one at Jeld-Wen owns a tape measure I have to special order a window.
