Hello! We are thinking of purchasing this door, but we have a door knocker we'd like to have installed. Would the holes have to be drilled at the factory or is that something the Home Depot installer could do on site?

Also, I have read that steel doors can dent and rust pretty easily. Do you offer any rust warranties?

You'll need to use some supplemental studs on the sides to fill in the gaps, and you may have to remove the brickmould that comes with the door and replace it with a wider molding to cover the gap between the door frame and the brick, but 36 x 80 is the largest standard size door commonly available so I don't think you're going to be able to get a better size in any stock door.

And although you didn't ask, I do recommend these doors. They look good and the glass is high enough that you'll get some light without sacrificing too much privacy. The doors are sturdy and they take paint well. The frames are kind of wimpy so having extra space in the opening to back them up with another board isn't a bad thing. If security is an issue, be sure to use screws on the latch and deadbolt strikes that are long enough to go through the supplied frame and well into the filler board. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by my ol lady was very excited My ol lady went and picked out the door and was so excited when she got home we went right to the rack. Then i hung the door and it was back in the rack. Two thumbs up i say! And the door aint bad either June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent value in an exterior door I love these doors. The styling is nominally craftsman, but it's classic and goes with almost anything. There is just enough glass. The price is excellent, the quality is good, so they are hard to beat for value. I've put three of them in on two different houses so far and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Hard to know at this point what they'll look like in 20 years but I'm guessing that with minimal maintenance they'll be fine. October 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy install and looks great Handy man installed with no issues... great look and value for price paid... will look even better when paint blue! March 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Premium 6-Lite Door Door looks beautiful, I would give this door a 5 rating but, unfortunately, my house is a Raised Ranch and this door affords a look from the road straight into my kitchen. I'll need to cover the windows with a curtain or with some type of sun blocking material on the windows. I was out of state when door was delivered and Installed ( private installer) and it's past the return date or I probably would have returned it & went with a different more private style of door. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful door We painted the exterior of the door red, and it looked really snappy with the white framed panels. We had someone install this door and it didn't seem to give him any trouble. It functions beautifully and looks just as nice as the much more expensive option we looked at, for a fraction of the price. September 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice door - packaging could be improved We liked the door, it was easy to install, however, it had a small section of damage near the hole for the door knob. The door isn't secured enough during the shipping process which made the steal by the hole tear a bit. I think upping the packaging of the door would be helpful. October 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New Steel Door Had the door installed, so I can not comment on ease of installation. However it was installed in a few hours down to having everything caulked and the threshold re-mortared. The door is clean, solid, and tight. June 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Classy Looking Door After shopping for steel doors for my humble home, I finally found one online that wasn't your typical fan light or nine light. Had to order it and it was well worth the shipping charge not to wrestle it home from the store. It arrived a week earlier than promised and was handled with care. Looks great, well made, durable stainless steel hinges, easy to install. Couldn't be more pleased. October 18, 2011
