I have large furniture that I'd like to be able to move through the door. However, both glass panels would need to be removed to accommodate it. Thanks

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Door Remodeling an older house that only had a standard door. We wanted more light and a better view of the back yard. After shopping a bunch, we chose this door due to the features and cost. After creating the opening specifically for this door, the fit was prefect. The door is a bit heavy for one person but I was able to get it in position by myself with the use of a dolly to position it then essentially military pressing it into place. Specs. say it is 150# and I completely agree as it was difficult. However, the weight gives the sliding door a good solid feel when sliding the door. The sliders will need to be adjusted to engage the rollers with the track. I did this by lifting the sliding door portion out and angling it so that the bottom of the door was resting on the casing and using the adjusting screw to lower the rollers on each side of the door. Then test fit to verify easy rolling and plumb. Once complete, it rolls very nicely. One other thing as a reminder. After putting the door handle on, make sure to replace the screws that hold the catch on the casing. I forgot and, when testing to verify the door was locked, pulled the catch from the casing. Now with some long construction screws that goes well into house structure, that will never happen again. Replacement screws with a white head are provided but I thought these were a bit stronger. One final thought, the latch mechanism is a muti-plate latch, like the body of a good Master Lock. As it is actuated, it extends out and then goes up and in thereby pulling the door tight to the casing and making sure there is a good seal. This also has an adjustment screw to create the perfect engagement with little to no movement of the slider when locked. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy We purchased this sliding door to replace a window. This was our first sliding door to install but not our first DIY project. We found the door to be very easy to install and finish. The door slides or glides easily and smoothly. The installation was really surprisingly easy. We only have one negative about the door and its the lock, its not bad quality or anything like that its quite good quality actually the problem is to make it lock and work correctly it is kind of funky but you get used to it. To lock the door you have to have the latch in a particular position before closing the door then move the latch down to the locked position it just doesn't work if the latch is all the way up. Really that is no big deal to us at all. We really are very happy with this door and we would and will recommend it to our neighbors (who have already come over to see it) and our friends. Oh and it comes with the screen we really like that as well. May 23, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Patio Door This is one great patio door. Bit heavy so I had to have my son help hold it up in place while I screwed it down but it only took me about an hour to get it firmly in place. The door has a great seal and it's hard to hear any noises coming from the outside. I would highly recommend this door to anyone. Keep in mind if you are planning to install one, that there are two screws located at the bottom of the sliding door which is what will ultimately do the final aligning of your sliding door. At first I didn't know this and wondered why the top portion of the door would close all the way but the bottom portion would not. Well, all it took was to turn the top screw of the two located at the bottom of the door and it lined right up. That screw controls the height of the back of the sliding door so you simply turn it one way to raise the back or the other way to lower the back until your door shuts evenly. Anyhow, I am glad I made the choice with Home Depot and not Lowes for this one. September 6, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by what an ez install My 12 and 10 yr old sons and I had the original door that was installed wrong 30yrs ago removed in 20 minutes. The new unit was in place in under an hour with a saw and a drill.... Very minor cutting involved. The door works incredibly smooth and the door lock is rather ingenious. June 10, 2011

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great door Bought door since we shattered the glass on our old one. And was cheaper to replace whole thing than just the glass. January 7, 2012
