At just under 40 in. tall, the JET bench-mounted drill press is moderate in stature but big in productivity and versatility. Drill perfectly perpendicular holes up to 15 in. and select among 16 speed settings from the heavy-duty 9 amp motor. Easily position the 10 in. x 13 in. work surface with the quick-release clamp and tilt it up to 45 degrees to perform a variety of drilling actions. The pulley cover unlatches quickly to make alterations to the motor mount and spindles when putting the machine to use in other spin capacities, for actions such as plating, shaping, sanding, routing or mortising.

Answer: 
Input power is 9amps x 115 volts = 1036 Watts.
I HP is 750 Watts so power in is 1.38 HP
Because the is some inefficiency the power is likely 1 HP.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sturdy drill press with some QC issues This is a nice drill press. It is sturdy, there's no plastic to be found, and it is fairly good to go right out of the box. Mine was square to the table, once assembled, right out of the box. The runout is within the expected tolerances so far. Just make sure the arbor and quill are good and clean with some acetone, seat the arbor with a twist, and seat the chuck by pressing it into a piece of scrap. Solid. There's no problem drilling down on hard wood scraps I tested with. No bogging down or loss of power. There is also negligible vibration. A lot of drill presses vibrate like crazy, with the belt cover rattling like it is going to fly off any minute. Not this one. It is solid. The only issues I have so far are quality control issues. The table is ground very rough and there were some grinding cleanup on the base that should have been caught. Also, the depth stop rod threads were very rough in a spot and I had to file a bit to get the lower depth stop ring to move up and down on the rod. For this price, this press should have been spotless from the box. Be prepared to muscle this a bit getting it together. It is 160 pounds in the box. The head is heavy, but manageable with one large person like myself. Also make sure you have plenty of rags and spirits to clean up the cosmoline. Give the table, base and column a good oiling afterwards for rust prevention, too, as they are obviously more rust-prone being ground and unpainted.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fair Drill Press I have purchased Jet in the past and will probably purchase Jet Again. The pulley / belt cover was very flimsy, The table rack & pinion were poorly designed / made, but still function. I just expected a bit better for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good tool and Home Depot made the whole process easy. The drill press works perfect in my shop and has a lot of nice features such as the work lamp. Buying from home depot made it easy and had no problems. I have bought other tools on line and have had problems with shipping and damage to the tool, but not with HD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT TOOL We are very please with this industrial strength drill press! Very strong motor, and adjustable table to handle the most demanding jobs. Looked at craftsman, and other similar makers, hands down winner across the board was this jet drill press. I know it was a little more money, but worth the expense! You will not be disappointed with this machine!
