Answer:
I made a flat bow from this exact pipe last week. A 5' pipe, with the ends heated, and tapered gave me about 25# draw. Search youtube for "pvc bow" and you'll find tons of how-to videos.

Answer:
It will work just fine for making a inexpensive bow. However, I suggest picking up some fiberglass driveway markers and put them inside the pipe. The draw weight will increase, but it will stop the pipe from deforming over time.

Answer:
We used half inch pipe for bows. They work great. This might be too rigid.

Answer:
Hello Crisse,
In general we do not cut PVC pipe at the store. If it's something simple like cutting a pipe in half a plumbing associate will usually take care of that. I recommend calling your local store and checking with the plumbing department about availability. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk. Low quality, thin-walled garbage. This JM Eagle stuff is junk. I don't know when exactly HD switched out the other brand, but this stuff is garbage. Have a look at the photo and compare to the stuff they used to sell. I thought that perhaps this pipe might carry more GPM since there's more room to carry water, but the fittings HD sells are designed for thicker pipes, so it's restricted to that. Considering the amount of work it takes to put these in the ground, it's a very idea to trust these pipes. They're thin, brittle and can be flexed by using just two fingers. Bad product. HD, are you listening? Like I said, the photo says it all. April 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very good pipe I have used this pipe for years and have never had a problem The person that gives the bad review about it being thin is not comparing the same schedule 40 pipe. I believe the thin one is series 200 pipe. May 21, 2015
