Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I trust Jobe's and love the results I have used the spikes from Jobe's for years on my evergreens and think the results are great. I have seen trees that were "ok" on growth and color become taller and more vivid over the course of a season. I continue to recommend them to neighbors. Following directions, use a hammer on the plastic striker head that comes in the pack to insert spike into the ground on the drip line. Note- you need a few for each tree- the amount depends on the tree drip line diameter. November 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Follow The Instructions With This Product I decided to order this because some of the evergreen shrubs in my parents' yard are not as healthy as others. Some of them are sparse and more yellow-green in color. The instructions recommend using this product in spring or fall, but my dad decided to use them around mid-July. Upon opening the bag my dad commented that the contents released a strong odor (the manufacturer says to use this product immediately after opening), but he found the fertilizer spikes easy to put in the ground. A few weeks have passed, and there's no improvement to the health of the shrubs, but I would attribute it to not following the instructions. August 8, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Tried & True.... I've used this product for some time, now. It really does help...I've even tried using them on 5 Evergreens and then on my other 2, used a different product. The trees that have had the Jobe's Fertilizer spikes were actually greener than the ones that did not...for me that was a great example of just how good this product is! I now use Jobe's for all my Evergreen trees and they all look wonderful. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants their trees to look lush and healthy :) All you do is take a hammer or mallot and drive them in the ground around the "drip line" of your tree. It comes with a little plastic cap, so you aren't damaging the spike...when you get the spike in deep enough..you remove the cap and then use it again on the next and the next....super easy and it lasts for a whole season. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent fertilizer Jobe's fertilizer works great as I have used these before. The spikes are easy to install but if the ground is hard, make the hole with a stake first to keep the spike from crumbling before it gets all the way in the ground. Use common sense for that decision. February 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to use So easy to tap down in the ground and then water. I just used for a couple evergreen trees. It is too early to tell how the fertilizer works, but from everything I've read - should work well. April 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hammering fert sticks into ground is nearlyimpossible in early- mid-Spring too hard sticks break apart if don't hammer directly straight, can't hammer them in April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perked up my evergreens very nicely I am very pleased to see how fast my evergreens perked up. I live in the high desert, so I water every 10 days in the summer. It seemed like I could see a nice difference only a few days after using the spikes and watering. Every tree was a bit more lush and colorful. This does what it is supposed to do. August 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple Idea with a Simpler Solution I have some young Spruce trees that needed some help in my poor soil. These solid spikes of tree food hammered in simply and were double wrapped to keep out moisture. My only comment is that the plastic cap to protect it from being broken by a hammer does not fit well. The solution is to use a rubber hammer. July 26, 2013
