Answer:
There is a rope attachment to the frame that you pull to invert the bin (hopper). I just grab the frame and pull. Do not overload because it will be so heavy that it becomes difficult to dump. You will learn the size load as you use the lawn sweeper.

Answer:
While your sitting on your tractor you have one rope that you can pull on, and the entire baggage area flips up, and dumps the entire load. No need to get up off the tractor!

I use the supplied cord and empty without getting off the mower. That way you can move forward a bit with the hopper up, and not drag clippings all over as wil happen if you get off and dump.

Depends upon you terrain. It can easily be dumped by pulling on the rope to lift the hopper and empty the contents or you can empty by hand. Either way - it is easy to empty.

The hopper hinges forward by pulling forward on the top bar. There is a small rope included to allow you to pull the hopper forward but I replaced it with a strap to allow me to empty it while seated on my mower.

Pull the rope and the hopper pivots, dumping the entire load in one place. Bagging is easier if you dump the leaves on a paved surface.

Use a moderate speed which will allow the brushes to sweep the debris into the catch bin. This will avoid having to go back over the area numerous times.

A slow walking pace would probably work. So I would assume 2 mphs. With my tractor anything over a creep speed seems to work quite well

Not very fast. Walking speed will do the job. Depends on how thick and heavy the grass is. If it's wet and thick, a bit more speed is required.

"Fully Adjustable"??? It has a fairly long adjustment range. The brushes will touch my driveway if lowered all the way down, and will raise to about 5 inches up if raised all the way. Generally I raise it all the way up if towing it to where I'm using it, and let it down to the 2nd or 3rd notch for use.

No - works great on mowed grass as well. The first time I used it, I mowed my lawn (which was too long and left clumps), then I attached the sweeper and drove over what I had already mowed using the sweeper - picked up all the grass with no issues.
Later, I was mowing and sweeping at the same time.

beautifully on leaves. It leaves very little behind. We have lots of oaks in our yard and not the traditional oaks. In the south they call them water oaks. The leaves are much smaller and plentiful. We have been delighted with the overall performance of this sweeper.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product, bent in shipping I wanted this to pick up sticks in my wooded lot. Worked perfect! April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John Deere 42 in. 24 cu. ft. Tow-Behind Lawn Sweeper This lawn sweeper actually exceeded my expectations. It actually picked up all the sticks, pine straw and pine cones in my yard. The yard cleaning usually takes all day using a rake and blower but now it only takes about 2 hours. Best money I have spent in a long time. But, it did take my wife and I longer to put the sweeper together than it did to clean the yard. We labeled the assembly project "marriage therapy." March 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Does a good job. Not that difficult to assemble. I liked that the small parts were clearly labeled and sealed in a plastic skin, much easier to find the correct nut and bolt this way.. Note: Mine came with a velcro piece with a peal away glue back that you stick on your tractor to hold the rope handle. Do not rely on this, mine came off right away and the rope ended up tangled around the paddles in the first 10 minutes. Also, there are some metal burrs on the inside of some of the tubes that make it difficult to fit tubes together. You just have to talk to them and be firm about your intentions. The first time I used it I didn't like it, was feeling kind of bad about buying it. Didn't seem to pick up very well and was constantly having to empty it. I got the hang of it the next time I used it and it really seemed to do the job. You have to experiment with speed and height. Speed is good if possible. October 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performs Very Well This sweeper really picks up the leaves, and some acorns and twigs as well. The only reason I ranked it a "four" in ease of use is because the rope to empty the bin of leaves might be engineered better. It's a little difficult to assemble, but not too bad. Caution...before you buy, figure out where you are going to dump all those leaves. Remember, they are not shredded or compacted. So far it is holding up well in my very bumpy yard. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Lawn Sweeper Awesome. No need to buy a grass catcher, this does it; plus it captures leaves and sticks. It pulls grass clippings in and rolls them into a Ho-Ho a cake. Just pull the bagger string and it rolls right out. Take your time putting it together. I spent four hours because I wanted it perfect. July 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is an awesome tool! This is the best $300 I have spent! Although the assembly of the unit was a little tricky, it really only took about an hour, and storing the unit is a little onerous as it must be partially disassembled, all of that is worth it because the unit works flawlessly. It is very easy to adjust the height so that everything, including acorns, sweet gum balls and pine needles are effortlessly collected. It took less than an hour to clear our 1/3 acre yard of all debris. The only time the unit had problems picking up leaves was right after a rain, when the leaves were virtually stuck to the grass and ground. In that case, just a light raking to get the leaves up from being flat on the ground solved the problem. The unit is made in the good old U.S.A., and is a John Deere afterall! I highly recommend this for anyone who is tired of raking, as long as you have a riding lawnmower to hook it up to! December 13, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great! 2 hour assembly is accurate. Package is horrible, but everything arrived regardless of the condition of the box. The pull string is useless. I get off the tractor every time I dump them to rake them into a bigger pile. Overall I would buy this again and it is 1000 time better than raking. November 9, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good for leafs I agree it was not that easy to put together. After it was on the lawn mower, now the adjusting started. What an ordeal! But I like it, and would recommend it. The sweep even picks up ran over, flat facing leafs, large and small. Dumping is easy. Pile of leafs and grass is getting bigger. November 21, 2011
