What is the purpose for the hopper screen I can't get mine to fit on a d110 John Deere mower bagger

Asked by: Shoter
The screen helps to force some of the debris over into the further bag, otherwise the closest bag would quickly fill up and jam the shoot. The screen goes in on an angle, the upper part tied to the LEFT and the bottom over against the side of the cover. Keeps debris from jamming up and blocking the flow from the shoot.

Installation of the bag assembly was not difficult altho stretching the rubber straps to secure parts can be difficult for an older person like myself. I had to get help on one strap. I have used the system for picking up leaves 5 times and it does a good job but does often leave a trail of leaves ; however, I am using the regular cutting blades the machine came with. My preference would be to use the mulching blades that came with the bagging system but i am 82 years old and not able to raise the machine, or tip it, to change the blades. Otherwise, the bags are a very good addition to the basic mower.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could have been better made The installation wasn't too bad, so there's that, but I think the hanging mechanism of each individual bag could be better improved. The single corner hanging apparatus makes unloading full bags a bit inconvenient, because you have to lift a corner and then lift the whole bag. If each bag were to be hung on two parallel bars, like the bagger for the Sears Craftsman mower, it would be much more convenient and quick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from D125 and attachments The d125 exceeded my expectations! Beautiful piece of equipment. I cannot say the same for the dethcher/aerator. The assembly instructions were in number 8 font so you needed a magnifying glass to read them. The diagrams were too small and difficult to read..The assembly was no better. The forks thar connect the wagon to the d225 were warped so I had to clamp them into position in order to secure the bolts To top it off there were bolts missing so I had to make a trip to the hardware store to finish the job I know John deere can do better than this. This is my second 42 inch twin bagger, they last long and function as expected. Installation was very easy for my first bagger, however upon receiving this bagger it was evident that one major change was required for the install. The customer would have to drill a pilot hole into the frame of the John Deere tractor. I assume the newer John Deere tractors have this hole placed there when it was made. A template was provided. I was furious. To make something that was originally simple, somewhat difficult makes no sense.

I've been using this system for more than five years with only minor maintenance. This new one is typically excellent but with one minor problem. The lower right hand bungee cord is too short by about 1.5 inches and I had to fabricate an extension of the snap hook with a hardware store "S" hook. Not a big deal but unexpected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Overall in happy with the bagger, it was reasonably easy to put together/install on my own. It's kind of annoying how the far bag always fills up before the near bag, and getting the bottom attached properly to the mower deck was a little tougher than I felt it should be for an OEM accessory, so I deducted a star for that, but would still recommend it.
