This bagger fits my D100 54" Deere riding mower. As with many other reviews I've seen, the instructions for assembling this are terrible, but once you get it together and figure out how to attach it to the mower, it works well. Plan on having the bagger on the unit more than not since it's not easy to remove either. The fan within the unit really does help to pick up everything it goes over. And 2 bags (6.5 bushel) just don't "cut it". They should offer a 3 bag version. And the price, $777 + tax is way too high for this. It should be half that price. Too bad Deere can't make their baggers as good as their tractors.

Bought it new, found to be defective,,, home depot yet to replace months after I have spent over 4000.00 for total cell. I should have bought it at Lowe's.

I purchased this as a replacement for a similar model, so I'm familiar with the installation and operation. I have to say, this is the most goofy-looking thing I've ever seen. While the pick-up/suction on this unit is superior, the small note that "cutting quality may be slightly degraded when using this" is far understated. Cutting is HIGHLY degraded - mower no longer will cut smoothly (leaves lines), nor can the deck be leveled with this unit attached. Removal of the fan allows the deck to be leveled and the cut to return to normal (defeats the purpose!).
I'm highly disappointed with this item!

I bought the 54" Bagger for my John Deere D170 and was impressed on how it works. The directions were a little vague but,if you have any problems putting it together go to your nearest Home Depot and they will assist you with assembly. The bags could be a little bigger as I have a little over a acre to cut and have to empty 2-3 times. The price range could be a little cheaper other than that I would recommend this product to anyone.

This bagger is way to expensive, hard to assemble, the directions are poorly written and are out of sequence. Once the bagger is on it is very hard to remove if one wants to cut without it. Also for a lawn mower of this size (54") cut and cost it`s capacity is to small. Two bags which hold only 6.5 bushels. These are a very poor representatives of John Deere products both D170 mower and bagger for 54" mower.

This bagger unit works much better than standard units without a blower. That blower keeps things moving nicely. The couple problems I have with it, the instructions are terrible, do yourself a favor and set aside an hour to install. Secondly, the blower unit is fantastic but it is also very heavy, it tipped the mower deck to the right so that I was mowing very uneven. Lastly, the bags are too small for the amount of grass this mower is expected to handle. This is a 2+ acre mower but I can't get through a half an acre front yard without stopping to empty the bags 6 times. The mower is plenty wide enough they could have made the bagger a 3 bag unit.
Over all I love it, just keep in mind, 1 hour installation. And set your deck wheels on the right hand side so you don't scalp your yard due to the extra weight of the blower.

Very happy with the machine and the bagger. It works great to get the clippings up and in the bag. This is very important to us. Vern

This is the best bagger I've ever had. The power flow chute works great. I still have yet to plug it up. Even if it were to plug, it's very easy to take apart to clear out. The only problems I have with it are the installation instructions and I really wish it had a third bag for more capacity. It's also quite expensive, but it's worth it to not constantly being plugged up.
