Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing runs like a Deere! I have now had my Deere for two years, and in two years time I have had NO problems at all, and I mean at all. Some of my neighbors have gotten other riding mowers (newer than mine), they have already had problems. Mine starts the first time every time, cuts right (nice and even), hauls just fine and is very easy to operate. I might be a bit biased in my assessment, ok so be it. But all I know is this, that after two years my Deere is still running problem free. Now don't kid yourself I put this Tractor through it's paces, and it goes through it all. So YES I would recommend a John Deere to anybody with NO regret. May 14, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by notning like my past john deere mowers this mower has 41 hours on it & already has two belt pulleys bad when I bought this mower new I paid for the bagger system & they never put the high lift blades on after using twice I realized this. this is my third deere first one was purchased in 1976 got twenty years out of it be lucky to get 5 out of this one June 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not what I expected With the Name brand of John Deere, and the price I expected a much better quality of equipment. This mower is very poorly made, does not handle well and in general am very disappointed in it. I would like to return the mower completely. Am waiting for a call fromt he dealership to see what my options are. Will not buy another small lawn tractor. May 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First impressions After my girlfriend wanted to buy a riding lawn mower for her 3/4 acre hilly lawn, I suggested this mower to her. Comparing it to my (other than JD) mower that I bought from a client, I have these observations: Pros: Smooth ride; much quieter; tighter turn radius; clean level cut; foot pedals for forward/reverse Cons: Seat cutoff switch is too sensitive if you have to adjust your sitting position to avoid low limbs or lean too much on a side slope; using the catcher it is difficult to determine if the bags are full (requiring you to look behind you and seat cut-off may engage) Overall, I believe this mower to be far superior to my mower which was comparably priced. Oh, and one more con, now I want to replace mine with one like hers. April 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good for smaller lots I had the previous model, LA120, and I abused it but it kept going strong. Easy to service, the battery is still good after 7 winters. I gave it to a neighbor he uses alot. I used this for hauling, pulling, and cutting 1-2 times a week. The transaxle started slipping on inclines after about 700 hours, my neighbor replaced the fluid and it runs fine. April 11, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This product has problems. I've had the 120 for two years now and it's been in the shop 3 times already and for the same thing. The spring cable that engages the snow auger or grass deck keeps falling off very poor design. I had a Murray for 12 years and never had a problem. It makes you think is john deere better quality. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great investment I bought the JD d120 a little over a year ago based on reputation and marketing, and have been throughoughly impressed. I did zero maintenance on it at all except putting more gas in it when it stops running because its out of gas. I started working nearly 7 days a week this spring so have been depending on my wife to mow the yard but she isn't very smart and has blurry vision. The mower is very easy to use, even for her. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very poor engine quality/life span I have the LA125 the cousin to this D120. The quality of the engine is very poor in my opinion. Don't expect the 120 to last as long as you think it should. For the amount of money you are spending, it should have a much longer life. September 28, 2013
