I have this cover basically as a dust cover, not an elements cover. My mower is kept in the shed so the cover doesn't face mother nature too often. I tested it by spraying it with the hose & the water beaded off real nice like. The air vents to prevent it from filling with air from the wind are a great idea. Anyone who has ever worked with any kind of cover or tarp will appreciate them. You do not need to worry about it blowing off every time the slightest gust of wind comes through.
Although not having tested this long term, I would guess that if left outdoors in the elements the condition of the cover would greatly deteriorate. Not through any fault of John Deere, it just happens to all fabrics over time.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by la12345 doesn't cover completely
Just got our cover yesterday and was really glad because expecting another winter storm tonight. However, I'm really disappointed in the fit of this cover, especially since it specifies the type of zero-turn mower we have. It barely covers the top half of it and there is no elastic, bungee cords, or anything that will help keep it down & on. Any wind will take it right off. In the picture it shows this, but I for some reason, was thinking it was lifted up a little to show the type of mower underneath or something. I guess I just thought it would cover the entire thing. It seems like that would be a standard thing?? Since it's storming right now, we have a couple of bricks in different spots to hold it on. Wish I could take it back and exchange for something else.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tanner08 Great protective cover for my mower
This cover is exactly what I needed for my riding mower. It is easy to install using the side "handles" and bottom elastic cord and fits my mower perfectly. The cover is made of a very sturdy material, and the John Deere logos add a little bit of style. The wind vents are a nice touch - especially if the covered mower is left out in the weather. I usually keep my mower undercover in an open shed, so this cover will offer additional protection from the elements. When not in use, the cover folds and self stores in a neat zippered pouch. This cover should prolong the life of my mower, and keep it looking like new regardless of what Mother Nature brings our way !

Came out of box in a nifty strong zipper pouch. Open it up and the sturdy feel of the material seems like it will last a long time. All the fabric feels like sturdy strong canvas type material. The elastic bottom edging fits my nameless lawnmower pretty well. Elastic stretches well with great stitching all around. I’m sure it will protect my lawnmower for a long time. From everything it reads on the package; birds, sap, dust, sun and rain. And the wind we’ve had here in North Florida lately proves the placement of the wind vents is right on. When you want to store the cover it folds back into it self and then zip it closed. Plus, the neighbors think I’ve a John Deer with the logo on the side. Lol

Just bought JD Z235 and I was offered to test this mower cover... can't be better timing than that. The material is a waterproof soft plastic material with nice JD logo on both sides of the cover. The bottom of the cover has an integrated bungee cord to keep it wrapped over the mower. The cover fits the mower body well, but may be not designed to cover the front wheels; it covers up to the foot deck of the mover, but a slightly short of being able to cover the front wheels. There is a small pocket with a zipper, and it took me a little time to figure out what that pocket was for. It's how one would store the cover. Just fold up the entire cover and shove it into this pocket, then zip it up... cover stored and packed! Nice thought. I noted that the cover tends to lift off in windy condition, and it would come off the mower.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DeereFAn Poor Durability. Thank goodness for 2 year warranty!
This cover is not made out of quality material. Outside, it fades rapidly and disintegrates from Sunlight. It's elastic is strong and it fits the mower well, but mine literally fell apart after 3 months. For a $90 price (or any price), that kind of durability is unacceptable! Note: This product is a "licensed" John Deere product, but is not made by Deere nor is it made by a quality cover maker.
