The tower system comes in a large cardboard box, padded with Styrofoam and wrapped in cushioning material. I did not notice any scratches or other defects in the finish of any piece.
Installed, the system looks nice. It organizes an ample amount of clothes on the hangar rods and the shelves hold more bulky accessories than I thought they would. The best feature is everything is wall mounted leaving the floor uncluttered for cleaning :-)
Assembly is tricky - there are a BUNCH of little screws and parts and the included instructions are, um, well, poor. Go to the John Louis web site for far superior pdf assembly instructions. Once sorted out, they went up quickly with few problems. Sometimes an encountered knot in the wood required pre drilling the screw hole and the critical dimensions are aptly named. Measure those carefully.
I do have one complaint. The shelves and towers came in filthy. Each item had to be wiped down to remove a dusty haze after unwrapping. I don't know what this dust was composed of but it took effort to remove it - more than just dusting. Ick.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RobH High quality! Great product with one exception!
I ordered two units and two 16" standalone towers for a walk-in closet install. The quality of the product is amazing, I noticed no defects in staining or structure, and it was very easy to install.
The only issue I had is the lack of shelves. The images shown are inaccurate with what comes with the kit. The 16" wall kits only include 2 shelves instead of the pictured 4. The stand-alone towers didn't include any! even though the image shows 4. So, just be aware that you will need to purchase additional shelving kits at about $50 for 2 shelves...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keysguy nice system, impressive high end look
I installed two of these kits + an extra shelf in a walk in closet. The whole system was well thought out and easy to put together. I've put a lot of furniture and other things together but this was a truly impressive. Lots of extra parts and not by accident. Even the screws were in individual zip lock not heat sealed bags making assembly and laying the parts not so much of a chore. As has been pointed out in a few other reviews the wood is very soft so do not bang it around when installing it. Both of my kits came with a touch up marker making it much easier to hide nicks and scratches that were put in during installation. I even had extra shelving left and parts to make up a couple of extra shelves for the tower.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by QuiQui Excellent, sturdy attractive product!
I love my new closet. A store associate presented this brand to me as an option and I am blown away! This sturdy closet was easy to install, looks attractive and costs a fraction of what I was actually looking to purchase (or convince my husband to purchase). I am blown away by how organized this closet makes me look. One of my best purchases ever.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by TonyK Install Differences between 16" & 12" deep JLH racks
I installed two Deluxe systems from JLH. The 16" deep rack was easy to assemble because it uses an Allen Head screw into a barrel nut for the rack top - everything lines up with this approach. The 12" Deluxe system used (4) angle brackets to hold the top to the sides - alinement is much more difficult. Also, if you plan to install drawers in the rack give yourself about an inch clearance from the vertical rack side to provide clearance from door jams for the open drawer. Note: the wood is very soft & dings easily; you can get a touchup pen directly from JLH if you order separate components. Lastly, JLH has some good installation videos on their web site. Good Luck.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kayhless This is gorgeous in my closet!
For my average size walk in closet I ordered 2 sets in mahogany, it is made of soft wood so a certain amount of care has to be taken to set up without denting the wood and it does take time, there is a learning curve involved. The first set took much longer than the second to install. The drawers are really very nice and sturdy with a velvet like inner lining that works well, they were easy to put in the tower. I had one part break during install that was very quickly replaced by excellent customer service. This is a beautiful addition to my closet and has made a HUGE difference in usable space, it is SO much nicer than wire or particle board for only a little more $. It isn't hardwood but the price isn't what hardwood would be either, this is a well made, well thought out kit with really nice finishing touches and hardware. I would buy it again, absolutely. I do wish Home Depot would carry the extra parts for customizing though, I had to order those from another supplier who also carried this brand.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by angela Extremely low qualaity, drawer fronts break off after 3 mo. of use
The locking mechanism for assembly is the same as ikea furniture except it snaps in half after three months of use. You have to dig it out to repair. The material is metal but is less sturdy than plastic. I replaced the hardware with ikea hardware and the drawer fronts are now secure. This product is not worth the high end price. It is below ikea quality for three times the price. It is made to look high end but manufactured with the lowest cost materials. Buyer beware. Don't make the same mistake that I made. If this is your only option, save yourself a repair headache and substitute ikea hardware for assembly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by bkb1 Closet System
This is an outstanding unit. We installed 2 units...1 for each side of the closet. The second unit went in MUCH quicker than the first. We used 2 different configurations that complemented the other. Unless your closet dimensions are exactly like that of the instructions you will need to do some math for the cuts you'll need to make for the proper fit. Very sturdy and looks great. They supply more than enough materials to complete the installation.
