I just installed this pocket door in a 200 year old house where nothing is plumb, square, or level. The door adjustments are simple and sufficient even for my mis-shapen house. The hardware is high quality. The rolling mechanism is ultra smooth. Installed it looks great and works great. The installation directions are probably fine for someone who has done one of these before. But they're overly terse. What's there is ultimately correct, but is easily misinterpreted. Proceed with caution!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, smooth action This is a well built and sturdy piece of hardware. I installed it with a six panel 32" door. This door was exterior/interior and the kit came with both a set for a standard 1 1/8" interior door thickness and one which I used for a thicker 1 3/4" door. Putting the door on the rollers is pretty straightforward and quick with one person holding the door up into the roller receivers and the other locking them in place. I have installed other pocket doors.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 2000 Series Pocket Door Frame is good product, but difficult install The overall product is good, enabling a homeowner to install a pocket door as a "do it yourself" project. There was one problem specific to this delivery: one of the 4 split-jambs was warped. Take off one star for that defect. And take off a star related to the poor instructions. The diagrams in the instructions are too small, and there is need for better step-by-step guidance. We were reliant on a video we found on the Web to provide additional details. We suggest that others look at these videos. And, sipuggest Johnston produce their own video keyed to the instruction sheet. There was considerable prep work needed to get the framing right. Once that was completed, the pocket door frame installed somewhat easily. The end result is a good solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hardware I purchased the 2000 series after reading the reviews of both the 1500 and the 2000. I knew I didn't want one of the 'off the shelf' big box pocket doors that rattles and does not slide well on its track. I have always disliked pocket doors because they have always felt cheap and low quality. I found many reviews from professionals online that suggested the Johnson Hardware 2000 series as a relatively inexpensive alternative that will provide smooth quality use. I am impressed with the quality of the components and the install is simple. I am remodeling a bonus space and wanted a 3' pocket door at the top of the stairs. The 2000 series will provide many years of smooth reliable use that will feel like a commercial door. And on top of it all, Home Depot shipped it to my house for FREE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy this instead of the 1500 series The I-frame beam with the rollers is much more impressive than the 1500 series. If you're installing this in a wall where it will be entrapped for the next 50 years, why not buy this one which has less chance of breaking?
