I purchased this laser for use in many applications of home building carpentry, but unfortunately was not overly impressed. While it does work adequately, it doesn't excel in it's purpose.
Specifically, it doesn't project it's laser at a very wide arc. I've used numerous other lasers in the same price range that have a much wider and longer range. It is very difficult to use the laser for plumbing walls when the laser can't even project onto half of the wall.
It did have some nice features, specifically the strong magnets for mounting on metal studs, tele-posts, scaffolds, etc., but this is a feature that other (superior) lasers share so it's fairly moot.
In short, for the home hobbyist or DIY'er, this laser is fantastic. Those in the trades who would get much more use out of it would do well to find one of the better lasers.

I returned my three line laser level that wouldn't turn on and bought the cross line one instead. It works great. Used it to level a gravel floor in my garage. Put the target on a pole and it worked perfect. Should have bought this one in the first place. The store was very accomadating wth the return.
