Can I use an extention cord with it?

Asked by: Jose
MET suggests that an extension cord is not recommended as a permanent fixture and should only be a temporary solution when using any electrical product. Temporary use of a UL listed cord is fine, consult your electrician for the proper cord for your application. For more information on MET safety testing please visit their website at www.metlabs.com or the UL website at www.ul.com.

Can this be used to keep bath water warm?

Asked by: Smb
The K&H Perfect Climate 300-Watt Submersible Pond De-Icer is a deicer and is designed to keep water from freezing over in a pond. It will only warm water to just above freezing. It is not designed for warming bath water unless you only want to warm that water to about 35-40 degrees.

This thing shuts of since it's thermostatically controlled..... I would actually like to warm the water a little more in my small 60 gallon preformed pond......and I thought that would be possible with this product.....nope. It did keep the pond from freezing over last week....then of course...it shut off again when the weather got a little warmer.
