Answer:
Yes- They will tint any portion of the primer you would like. So if you have an old paint can you can dump some out and they will tint only what you need. Hope this helps!

The product is labeled "tintable" so I would think HD would add tint. Probably at additional cost.

Answer:
Yes they will. I always have mine tinted in store. They'll warn you that it might not color match perfectly, but tell them to go ahead and tint it. You're going to paint over it anyway.

Dear DIYbeginner,
Yes! The Home Depot will tint your primer. In some cases, our customers prefer to tint primer to help reduce the number of paint coats needed for a project.
We hope this helps and good luck with your project!

Answer:
Hello DIYbeginner!
Thank you for your question. This can be tinted, but it can only hold about 2 ounces of tint. If you have a color in mind, the paint associate can reduce the original formula. It will be a lighter version of the original color.
Have a great day!

Answer:
PVA can be used as a primer for all paints. I was surprised to
find it adheres better than expensive top coats It has good
adhesion, but poor cohesion which is why it can be sanded
to smooth rough patches in wood.

Hello TT,
Our PVA Primer is designed to go underneath low sheens like flat or eggshell. We would not recommend top coating it with Satin or Semi-Gloss.
Best wishes.

Answer:
Hello and thank you for your inquiry. No, PVA primer is not suitable since the application is in a bathroom which is exposed to high levels of moisture and humidity. We recommend use of a primer with a mildew-resistant finish to help protect against mildew and mold on the primer surface and also highly recommended to use a paint that has similar mildew resistance.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This was awesome This primer was great! Needed it to cover a bold color before repainting space. Only one coat was needed and I was happy. June 21, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent primer Do I really have to fill out this field. Take it as a good product and move on! July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible results! I can't say enough good things about this product. We are finishing off our basement and needed a PVA primer for the drywall. Luckily I checked the reviews on here and bought a few cans today. The 400' coverage per gallon estimate from the manufacturer is a bit generous - we managed around 300'+ per can for one coat. But what a wonderful product! The local HD shook the cans up for us and we started work right away. It went on easily, and although it looks patchy going on, we have even, gorgeous coverage hiding all the mud and joins. I even painted over some old painted pillars and didn't come across the peeling effect that some have encountered. Highly recommended product! July 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kilz is easy to use and the smell is not that strong. Very easy to apply on surface and it dries quick excellent choice . June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Kilz the competition All it takes is one coat with the proper roller, exceptional value when considering multiple covering capacities. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by much better than others This pva primer worked great on our new drywall. Goes on thicker than other brands so less coverage per gallon. I view this as a good thing though. We will be buying this primer again when we do our family room in the basement. Definately recommend! February 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Woodworking Aid My customers can not afford most ready made moldings. So I make moldings from framing lumber with a table saw and routers. The PVA primer fills small tool marks and gives body to wood whiskers on fuzzy lumber like white fir. It sands easily (unlike latex top coats) to help give a smooth finish on the moldings.
