Money's tight, so after 6 months of scraping, repairing, cutting out and filling w/wood filler, sanding & caulking etc....I managed to get my 62 yr old home covered w/2 coats by the end of Nov. 2011. The house is 1473 sq ft, and I used 13 gallons. We had a mild winter granted, but this covered my cedar shingled home beautifully. I've inspected every inch of my home this March, and there is no peeling what-so-ever. It is in perfect condition to take the top coat of either Behr, or Valspar. I can only say that I really took the time to properly cover the cedar shingles and flat boards, and have had nothing but compliments so far on how the house looks. I scraped and sanded the moldy areas which probably helped alot. I know everyone wants a quick fix, but if your repainting an older home like mine, prep is everything to get the product your using to work at it's best. It even held up to painting in Nov. w/temp at 53 degrees. I would be really surprised, if in 5 yrs I am having any major trouble. From what I experienced, I would definately recommend this product....f.y.i. the extended period of time, again was due to lack of funds, and lack of a really tall ladder lol...but it was worth it..saved alotta $$$ good luck on your project!

After using this product for the first time I would highly recommend it. We used it in our entire house as a base primer. The kilz2 covered all the stains that we where unable to scrub off the walls. With only 2 coats we managed to cover both our bedrooms and kitchens old out dated dark colors.

My Nephew introduced me to it...Re-doing Drywall in 100+ year old House...
It is an outstanding...easy to use...Product...
Notes: 1...It is A Primer/Sealer...not a final coat of Paint...
2...Must do the proper prep on old wet walls...
3...Must stir up each time before pouring into Paint tray...
ie: Hint: Follow Directions...

I have used Kilz2 on 2 previous homes. This stuff is great and I've never had a problem with it covering anything. I'm now buying it for my third home.

Kilz2 Primer is an excellent starter primer for stubborn mildew, or humidity issue walls, for light humidity problems Kilz2 can be used as a direct primer, with simple paint application thereafter, and the mildew should be controlled. Furthermore, for tougher jobs, such as concrete/matrix, or structural/matrix mildew and humidity problems that arise from flooring, and or roofing, Kilz2 may be used as a starter, waiting for this starter primer to CURE into the walls for at least 5 to 7 days, is IMPORTANT if you will be using a Premium Primer over this, to ensure the Maximum Mildew Control, Sealing and Protection, such as Kilz Premium, once this entire process is completed, you are ready to apply Paint, or any other wall treatment, Using a Premium Paint Plus Primer such as Behr Ultra Paint & Primer all in one, Greatly improves the sealing of walls with mildew and excessive humidity or condensation issues.
Kilz 2 & Kilz Premium are highly recomended Primers.

Everything was good with this paint for our concrete and outside vestibule. The one thing we didn't like, is that it could be thicker to cut down on the amount of coats we had to apply. Also some areas stayed tacky for days.

Like a previous writer noted - like a whitewash!!
Painted one coat over a rich pink (don't ask!) and loads of colour bled through - even after second coat!
Pulled undercoat paint off too
Pure rubbish - save your money on this one!
