Customer Questions & Answers

Can I used it to coat under kitchen sink?

There is grey coating under my kitchen sink that smell like a strong chemical. Can I use this to seal the odor under the sink?
Asked by: Fluf
Hi Fluf, Thanks for your question! Our Kilz Complete was not designed to seal in odor. We currently haven't tested our primers on the grey coating you find under your kitchen sink, so we're unable to recommended an appropriate product. You may want to reach out to your local Home Depot for some recommendations on a different product that would work for this area. Best wishes! - Sara

How many square feet will it cover?

I wanted to use this for the outside and possibly the inside of my front door, so was wondering how much coverage I will get?

What do you use to clean this product off clothing, skin, or oversprayed surfaces? Thanks!

Asked by: DIYer
Hello DIYer, Thanks for your question. For oversprayed surfaces, we'd recommend wiping off the primer with a dry rag or paper towel while the surface is still wet. If it's dried, you could use fine grit sandpaper or a paint/stain overspray remover product. For skin, wash well with soap and water. For clothing, you might need to check with a Home Depot associate to see if they have any special remover products. A dry cleaner may also be an option. Hope your project goes well! -Joshua

COMPLETE 13-oz. White Oil-Based Interior/Exterior Primer, Sealer and Stain-Blocker Aerosol is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy, excellent coverage I used this project to protect some plywood we installed over a dog door at our rental home when it was no longer needed. I wanted to paint it to match the exterior paint, so used the Kilz Aerosol primer first and went on so easily and dried so fast that I was able to complete the job with exterior paint in record time. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty cans Purchased 4 cans and each one leaked from stem as soon as I depressed the spray head. Not only leaving me with no paint but also a massive mess to clean up! Paint started pouring out the pressurized stem the second I tried to use it on each can. No idea if the product works couldn't use any of the 4 I purchased. Disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so easy i could cry I purchased this product after coating a part of a castle cutout for my daughter's birthday party a little thick and causing runs with the kilz clear in the large can. I couldn't believe how easy the spray was to use. I finished quickly and it had pretty good drying time! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use ~ performs as claimed For quick work in small areas, this aerosol can is quite handy. But ~ not every odd stain will cover, some contaminates and petrol products which have penetrated deeply WILL re-emerge or migrate to the surface. Good stuff but not magik. Some materials must be replaced. Always in my tool and paint box, though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for indoor use I thought I would use this on my interior wall where I had a water leak stain. Was not thinking ahead about the aerosol spray settle on floor and surround area surfaces. Covered stain well, and I was able to spend time cleaning floors and table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent primer for stopping stains I needed to replace a piece of painted trim which was in size 2x6.The only board available in this size was pine. I used this primer to prime the pine board and to prevent sap from seeping and staining the white paint.
