Can we use this on the garage floor?

The lady we bought our house from smoked in the garage. What can I use on the floor?
Asked by: shelly
No, there are specific products for your issue. Go in and get someone in the paint department to show you them. They will work much better, especially on concrete.

Max over wall that has wallpaper glue

Removed wallpaper; glue laborious to remove. Can Max be used over wall that has wallpaper glue? Thanks!
Asked by: BobJax
I wouldn't use it over glue of any kind. Prep work is essential. You need to strip off the glue.

MAX 1-gal. White Water-Based Interior Primer, Sealer and Stain-Blocker is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive. I bought a 50-year-old house and was working to restore a basement utility room that had been used as a kitchen by a past owner. It was bad - my daughter called it a "murder scene". The walls were plaster over cinder block with many coats of unknown type paints. After some cleaning and light sanding with 220 grit paper, I was going to use a shellac-based primer. No windows in this room and minimal ventilation, so I wasn't looking forward to it. Then I ran across this stuff. It went on easy and covered all of the stains, marks and splatters that were on the walls. In one coat. I don't give away five stars easily, but this stuff is worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product does it all I have pets and after 25 years in what was then a new house it was time to repaint. This primer does seal in smells and stains. It is awesome. I got so excited I was only going to use it on the wood trim but now I see its value for the walls in kitty closets and areas which are prone to accidents. Besides, the oil and the water or acrylic based paint then goes on smoother. The primer cleans up brilliantly with only water. That was a wonderful surprise. I thought I would need mineral spirits, but mineral spirits are needed only for cleaning up after the painting is done. I have used other primers in the past. No more. This is the perfect primer for me. Using it now on every window sill and door in the house, then will go outside and spruce up the patio furniture! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have sprayed this primer on newly built custom cabinets. After trying several water based primers, I found this the best. It is not too thick and can be sprayed with airless sprayer or with HVLP (some thinning needed with HVLP). Best part I like about this primer is that it dries quickly and sands easily to a smooth finish.

So, I went into home depot and told the guy, I am painting a fence and need a good primer that will block the stains that come through. He showed me 2, an oil based primer and the Kilz Max. I choose the Kilz Max because it was water based and made for easier clean up. After spending about 20 hours painting my fence I noticed that the stains where coming through this primer. I am so upset at Home Depot and Kilz as it did not do what I needed and I could only learn that after 20 hours of work and $240 worth of this product... I will never get advise from a Home Depot employee again. From now on I will choose Ace...they actually know what they are talking about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best latex primer I've ever used I used kilz max on a customers house recently. They had a grease fire in the kitchen so the ceilings and walls were heavily covered with smoke damage. I sprayed two coats of kilz max on ceilings and walls. The product covered so well I could have just left the ceilings with no top coat. I recommend this product to pros and home owners. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I used Kilz Max as a bond/seal coat on some old Luann hollow core doors that I suspected to have some nicotine stains. It sprayed really well without thinning with an airless 311 tip. Seemed to have good adhesion and it sealed the doors completely. It does have an unusual odor that takes a day or two to dissipate but nothing like an oil primer. I will happily use this again on my next set of doors.

This time, I needed to paint molding that previously had been stained and glossed. I planned on using a very light gray paint, so I knew that bleed-through was probable. Kilz covered the stain and allowed the paint to adhere without bleed-through with only one coat. I would highly recommend this product.
