Answer:
Hi otsumm,
Our Kilz Max will seal difficult pet odors, however it was designed for subfloors only. If your hardwood floor isn't a subfloor, you may want to reach out to your local Home Depot for a similar product that would be suitable for your project. Good luck! - Sara

If I do an additional coat of Kilz Max, should the leaching be stopped?
To prep I washed walls with a wet cloth and a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap and allowed them to thoroughly dry before painting.

Answer:
Hi SMohr,
Thanks for your question! Two coats of primer should be enough to seal the surface and prepare it for the top coat. I recommend testing a couple coats of paint in a small area. If the wood still shows through, a third coat of primer may be necessary; giving it extra time to dry will also help with sealing. Hope this helps, and good luck on your project! Best, Jeanette P.

Answer:
Hi smitty,
Thanks for your question! Yes, KILZ MAX can be sprayed with an airless spray with fluid pressure of 2,500-3,200 psi. It should have a 0.015"=0.021" spray tip with 60 mesh filter.

Answer:
Hi Speedy,
Thanks for your question! We highly recommend that glossy finishes be sanded even lightly first before applying the primer. This will ensure better adhesion of the primer to the paneling surface.

MAX 5-gal. White Water-Based Interior Primer, Sealer and Stain-Blocker is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 90.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Paing Smell Attempted to deal with the smell of bad paint by using Kilz Max. After purchasing 3 gallons of this product to deal with a small ceiling, the smell of bad paint, after all those coats, is till there. Real shellac base can be had for less than half the price, and I don't know what else to try. After attempting to get this product to work by adding coat after coat it is clear that this product has failed to block the odor. As a warning whenever you open a can of paint pay make sure it passes the smell test. This is a lesson I learned the hard way, since I did not smell anything objectionable when opening the can I just used the paint. Don't do that, you need to actually check the smell in order to know if the paint is still good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best latex primer I've ever used I used kilz max on a customers house recently. They had a grease fire in the kitchen so the ceilings and walls were heavily covered with smoke damage. I sprayed two coats of kilz max on ceilings and walls. The product covered so well I could have just left the ceilings with no top coat. I recommend this product to pros and home owners. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product ever! I used this to seal old pet stains on subfloor before installing hardwood floors. This does such a great job of sealing everything in. There isn't any hint of the old pet stains at all! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pet odors be gone!! We recently purchased a used home where, without our knowledge, animals controlled the entire home & used it as their personal litter box. Once we finally pulled all the carpet and pad, we could see that we needed to block this before new "anything" could be installed. Enter: 5 gallons of KILZ MAX!!! One coat down and all these worries were gone! We have new carpet and can actually lay down on it and not be reminded of why we do! Thank you Kilz!!!! This product is legit!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Covering up BAD...seriously BAD pet odor We recently bought an old farmhouse with the intent to renovate room by room over time...the previous owner had several animals who apparently liked to use the carpeted living room rather than go outside :/ we removed the carpet and pad before even moving in. While that helped it still smelled, I tried everything...baking soda and vinegar...scrubbing with soap and water..every DIY remedy online.....even straight up bleach scrubbed into the subfloor nothing worked! I have used kilz regular primer before and knew the coverage was unbeatable so I found the kilz maxx odor blocker which of course was the highest price can but it was worth it! Rolled 2 coats on the subfloor smell was gone and hasn't returned! I'm a kilz believer for life! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Saver We were remodeling the laundry room and bathroom. We found enough drywall at a bargain price, because supposedly a worker spilled coffee on it. Really, they laid out 30 pieces of drywall and spilled coffee on every single piece? Suspicious to say the least. The price was too good to pass up, or so we thought. We purchased it all. The only downside, after priming the drywall, every single "coffee" stain could be seen. Not wanting to accept spotted walls, I bought KILZ MAX primer. I redid it all. Darn I wish I would have done that the first time. It works. Every single spot was gone. No bleed through. We saved a small fortune on the drywall, even with purchasing the great KILZ MAX primer we saved time and money. Lesson learned, I will continue to use KILZ with all my painting projects.
