Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible results! I can't say enough good things about this product. We are finishing off our basement and needed a PVA primer for the drywall. Luckily I checked the reviews on here and bought a few cans today. The 400' coverage per gallon estimate from the manufacturer is a bit generous - we managed around 300'+ per can for one coat. But what a wonderful product! The local HD shook the cans up for us and we started work right away. It went on easily, and although it looks patchy going on, we have even, gorgeous coverage hiding all the mud and joins. I even painted over some old painted pillars and didn't come across the peeling effect that some have encountered. Highly recommended product! July 17, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pva primer Didn't cover well. Needed additional coats. Wouldn't use again September 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kilz pro primer Was a little disappointed at first. Did not hide after one coat. With the "KILZ" name and the word "pro" I expected a little better hidability. But after reading on the can it stated to use a different type of Kilz for better hiding. In the end 2 coats did the job. Can't complain too much price was great if money's tight. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excelent primer Good coat. Covers lots of maps. Even I used it as a flat white color. August 25, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor adhesion I wiped vacuumed and wiped again my new drywall. Than applied this. It went on fine. But when I put the top coat on it appeared fine. As it got nicked or scratched the primer and the top coat came off the wall down to the bare drywall. Spend the money, get the better primer! August 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT USE ON GREENBOARD! I recently finished my basement. On the outside walls I used "greenboard" . To prime the greenboard and regular gypsum on interior walls I used Pro-X PVA primer. The PVA adhered wonderfully to the regular gypsum, but still after 4 months it has hardly adhered to the greenboard. I used it as directed and after a few days of drying I topcoated with 2 coats of regular Olympic latex paint. If I put a piece of blue painters tape anywhere on those greenboard walls and pull it off, the paint and primer come off in a chunk exposing the greenboard. Nowhere on the product does it state not to use it on greenboard. November 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product at an economical price. The paint went on very easy. It covered as advertised. I would recommend it. August 4, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best yet Used on new Sheetrock, ceilings that had a coat of sheet rock joint compound applied for smoothing and previously painted walls. Excellent sealing properties and was able to use one coat of color on new walls. This is the best and most economical primer I have ever used, much better than using cheap paint. July 21, 2015
