This product can be applied to most ceilings to treat and seal water stains, but does not create or remove popcorn ceiling appearance, if that is what is meant by your question.

Answer:
It doesn't add the 'pocorn' texture to the ceiling - there are other products for that (I'm told Christmas snow in a can is a great option but haven't tried it myself). You can use this paint/sealer ON a popcorn ceiling with no problems to seal and cover stains, watermarks, etc.

Yes, it worked really well on the stain on my parents old popcorn ceiling. The color was even tinted well enough to match without having to repaint the whole ceiling!

Answer:
This product can be used on popcorn ceilings to cover up stains but will not produce the popcorn texture. It is strictly smooth spray paint primer. They do have a spray in a can available to repair a popcorn ceiling sold in home depot that will produce the popcorn texture you may be asking for. Hope this answered your question.

Answer:
It will not give you the popcorn effect it is only paint. To get the popcorn effect it needs to be sprayed from a hopper. The can popcorn will not match existing properly, but in a pinch it can be used.

Answer:
This product is intended to be sprayed with the can pointed upright. The material inside the can could certainly be used to prime any wood or drywall surface, but the applicator is not the best for what you are looking for. Same product comes in a regular spray can.

Answer:
This is a stain blocking primer and top coat in one. Unfortunately, my experience was not favorable. I used on USG Alpine ceiling tiles, they are at least 15 years old. I was covering water stains. The product did not adequately cover the stains, and it was far darker than the tile color. I wound up replacing them.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. KILZ Upshot is pre-tinted (pre-colored) to match most aged acoustical ceilings. It would depend what color your popcorn ceiling is. I recommend to test a small section on your popcorn ceiling to ensure the color matches. However it can definitely be applied to the popcorn ceiling.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to use Great product with great results very easy to use I have been using kizzs for. thirty years give or take. And I have always been satisfied with it [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] July 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Messy It took many coats to cover up the brown water stains on my dining room ceiling. The first coat made the stain look gray and the second coat made it a little whiter. I didn't realize this product would leave so much of a white powdery dust all over eveything exposed. It looked like baby powder was shaken all over the room and made the room very cloudy. I plan to paint over the ceiling so I probably would have been better off buying a stain covering primer and paint. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] June 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Product Not So Great: Barely Acceptable Negatives: 1) Kilz never comes out as white as my ceiling. :-( 2) Does not cover well. Comes out in a narrow strip. :-) Grade: C- August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by so convenient What a great idea to shoot straight up. Easier to use on a high ceiling. June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Idea for Spraying Ceilings The UpShot solves the problem of trying to spray paint the ceiling. Oddly, many people have not heard of it before. Just a great package and product. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Phew! Amazing! This was absolutely an impulse buy. I had doubts it could be that easy, but with an ugly stain on the garage ceiling of my house, I gave it a try. Easy to use. Spray covered completely, 2 coats over the really dark part. No mess. I was impressed. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by awesome product!!! easy to apply, results perfect, coverage was a lil bit lacking but outcome was first class matching for aged ceiling where water discoloration had stained. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE IT!! WORKS GREAT!!! We have a rental house where people vacated. The ceilings where vents are were very dirty and stained. I used a broom to clean the dust and loose dirt off ceiling. Thank I spray KILZ on the stained ceiling. Now it looks beautiful. Saved me hours of painting the entire ceiling. I love this product and highly recommend it to all!!! May 10, 2016
