Answer:
This unit may have a little more sheen than the brushed nickel faucets and fixtures, but it is a nice cabinet, and should match OK. When the cabinet door is closed, you see only the mirror, except from the sides where it protrudes a bit from the wall to allow for the hinge swing.

The frame for this medicine chest does not have a shiny finish so it should look alright with your brushed nickel fixtures. I do wonder, however, if the simple design of this cabinet might clash with your venetian glass mirror.

I installed one of these for a customer, and she really likes it. I don't have an exact dimension for the interior depth of the shelves, but believe it to be about 4" (5" total depth of the unit, minus the thickness of the door and back panel).
That said, a standard TP roll might fit on the shelf OK, but those "double" and "mega" rolls would get squeezed into a bit of an egg shape with the cabinet door

Answer:
Super-glue a tab onto the back of the door at the top, and attach a small chain to it. Attach the other end of the chain to the top of the inside of the cabinet with a sheet metal screw. Ensure that the positioning of the attachment points and the length of the chain provide a "stop" at the right spot when the door swings open. Not elegant, but simple and effective.

Unlike the answer below indicates, the door actually opens further than 90 degrees. I have two of these medicine cabinets, both in configurations where they are on a side wall next to a large plate glass mirror on the adjacent wall. One of the bathrooms has only a couple of inches between the medicine cabinet on the one wall and the adjacent mirror on the other wall so when I open the door, it hits the other mirror. As one writer suggests, the mirror can be mounted to open in either direction but that does not help this situation because I would have to lean around the door (since it is on a side wall) to use it and that does not work well in the space. The other bathroom has a bit more space between the cabinet and the mirror on the adjacent wall so there is no issue with that door hitting the adjacent mirror. The Kohler company response indicates that the door can be adjusted, but unfortunately provides no information on how to do that. I have tried bending the hinge but it won't budge (probably good that it is so sturdy). Thank you for your ideas--so far, I have had to resort to using the small rubber bumpers on the outside of the medicine cabinet to soften the blow when it hits the mirror in the problem bathroom. Any other ideas? Read Less

Answer:
You can install this unit for the door to open from the Left to right or right to left...so, when you open the door it will not hit the mirror...you just turn the unit 180 degrees before you install it....so don't get too stuck on the idea of only opening the cabinet one way, because the hinges do go past 90 degrees and you can't adjust that.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 193 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by inexpensive and easy to install Not much in the way of instructions but it's not needed. This unit was just the perfect size to replace our old cabinet from the 1980s. Most recessed cabinets today have a depth that is too big, but this one just fit in perfectly! Make sure you have wood around the opening and pre-drill before putting in the screws. Shelves are a bit tricky to push into place, but this is to keep them from moving once they are installed. Good packaging and we had our unit delivered right to the Home Depot store for pickup. I only gave it a 4 star rating for quality since you might be able to find fancier models out there, but they also are a lot pricier. This one was inexpensive, somewhat plain (which is what we wanted), but not cheap looking. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by As advertised I ordered the cabinet on a Thursday around 11:00 and it was on my doorstep by noon the next day. It was packaged well and showed up with no defects. The unit itself was easy to install and fit perfectly in my existing cut out. Mentioned in one of the reviews is the actual cabinet size (not mirror) which is 19.5 H x 15.5 W, those are the correct dimensions for this cab. The mirror is very nice with beveled edges and the mirrored interior is a nice touch. Overall, I'd highly recommend both Home Depot and this product. March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great purchase Mirror galore. Inside and out. Love the simplicity of lines. Looks great. Was easy to install, and fits where the old cheap plastic mirror was, September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Medicine cabinet If you need a smaller cabinet this one is very nice, has 2 glass shelves inside. Good for the money. The only thing that would make this better is if the mirror was larger than the cabinet part that goes into the wall 1 for bigger mirror apoearance and 2 to hide any imperfect wall area where the actual cabinet went in the wall. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice mirror/medicine cabinet The mirror/medicine cabinet is as appears online. I'm satisfied with the product. August 16, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by greatlooking quality mirror, but didn't fit my opening This is a very good quality, nice looking mirror. wish it had fit. Sadly, my opening is determined by a 2x4 frame (13.5 x 17.5" exactly) behind plaster and lathe. The exterior cabinet dimensions were 1/4" too wide to fit. Ordering online and returning to HD retail store is a snap. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Medicine Cabinet We purchased this medicine cabinet to replace an existing one. It had to be the same size. It fit in well. It has a mirror on the back of the door, and a mirror in the back of the cabinet.. It is well constructed. We like it. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy installation Easy installation, great looks. Put it in both bathrooms, easier to order online, store stock was lacking. August 2, 2016
