What length tub spout do I need for this tub?

When my daughter washes her hair, she sticks her head under the spout to rinse the suds out, so we need to make sure the tub spout is long enough to allow for that. I'm having trouble figuring out what the length would need to be and would really appreciate any input.

I'm the original poster of the question an am responding to Kohler's answer. I have looked extensively into the tub spouts available, so your response was not helpful. What would help me is if you could provide an accurate measurement from the front lip of the tub to the opening. I've looked at the specs and am not sure if the 1 1/4 inches is that measurement - it's hard to tell from the diagram.

Hello, my name is Julie with KOHLER Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your drain question.
The drain for the 1123-LA would be the 7271 brass drain or 7272 PVC drain.
Please work with your local Home Depot for pricing and availability on this product.
Thank you for choosing the Bold Look of KOHLER.

Same Archer 5ft bathtub, but cost is different. My bathtub is left hand side. So can I buy reversible drain type to save cost? Any difference between those two?

Thank you for your inquiry. I believe the unit you are referring to is the Archer model K-1123-96, which is a drop-in tub, not a 3-wall alcove tub like this K-1123-LA-96, so it is designed for a different installation, and it is physically different from this unit.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Web Page Lacking I would have given higher ratings, except the website did not specify that the overflow and tub drain were a separate purchase...... and NEEDED for installation. I had to order the part separately because the Home Depot stores did not carry it, nor did any of the sales associates know what parts went with this tub. One associate actually told me the hole in the tub was the overflow, but I didn't need to do anything, that the hole didn't need to be covered...... LOL. The order was never placed by the HomeDepot.com operator the first time...... so I had to re-order it, and then the over night delivery, that I was promised, did not come to fruition! So... needless to say, I had to go to a plumbing supply store and purchase the Over Flow drain and drain stop.......so that my contractor wouldn't charge me ANOTHER days pay!!!!! September 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GR8 Tub !! Great tub....... great quality.............. worth the money !! August 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A very nice, deep tub that has special needs for the drain. This tub requires a K-7271-variety drain from Kohler for the 'slotted' drain overflow, and the length of the drain is far from standard. I really like the tub, the price wasn't too high, but MAKE SURE TO GET THE CORRECT DRAIN KIT! I'm really disappointed that the Home Depot website didn't state that this drain kit is required to install the tub. March 24, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overflow issue a surprise The tub is fine. Unfortunately nowhere on the Home Depot website does it say it has a non-standard overflow drain that must be special-ordered and is quite expensive. This should be flagged upfront. June 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by color is nice in biscuit. has matching drain overflow, sold separately. nice and deep; good quality. perfect size for alcove tub. July 10, 2012
