Is the spray nozzle magnetized so as to allow it to retract snugly into the faucet? Also, is the spray nozzle made of plastic or metal?

Asked by: SoCal
It is magnetized. Spray nozzle is metal.

I currently have a side spray. Is there a cover for the spot where my spray is now?
Asked by: Jam
No. It does come with a plate for 3-hole mounting as well as the hardware for a single hole mounting. Home Depot should have a round cover plate for your sink's sprayer hole.

It looks great and the sweep spray is very handy. I have gotten compliments on the look of it, and the water power is great. I am disappointed though because the faucet often drips after using it. It seems like there is still water left in the hose and it drips out of the head until I either shake it out or clean it with a towel. Considering this was my reason for replacing my old faucet, I am pretty upset. I expected better from Kohler.

Home Depot won't let me update that one. The spray assembly must have gotten clogged over time. Kohler sent us a replacement spray assembly free of charge, and fixing it was as fast as replacing a light bulb. The volume is back to full, and we are happy again. Overall, my rating is 4 stars, as I would rather not have gone through all this, but I wanted to average out my lower review with a 5-star version.

The installation wasn't that hard - the instructions are pretty good with the exception of step #11. On step #11, look at the picture very closely since the drawing that shows how to connect the pieces is really small. If you have any questions, try connecting the pieces out on the counter so you can see how it works before actually installing the pieces into the faucet. It's not complicated, you just want to make sure you know how the connection works. The faucet looks great and the pull out action with the magnet works extremely smoothly and locks nicely. It feels very well made and thoughtfully engineered. The height of the faucet has also made our sink a lot more accessible and easier to use. We would have replaced our old faucet sooner if we had realized what a difference the new faucet would make. The only issues we've noticed are pretty minor: if we have the faucet set on the lowest pressure, it loses a little heat (probably due to our on demand heater) which is easily fixed by increasing the flow, and the side lever on the faucet is a little crowded, due to the placement of the air gap for our dishwasher, which is an issue with our sink design - not with the faucet itself. We considered installing it with the lever in the center like some have mentioned to avoid the crowding but we didn't think it looked as good set up that way. In the end, we set it up as it was designed on the side and live with the vent sitting close to it. Had we realized in advance about the crowding issue, we might have looked for faucet with a different lever design - but we would absolutely want to same overall look and function. Overall, the faucet made such an improvement to our sink area that the vent cover crowding it isn't that big of a deal. We both love this faucet so far and we wish we hadn't waited so long to replace it.

Home Depot provided a new cartridge, which I installed after watching the video on replacing it. The original cartridge caused the handle to totally lock up after running hot water for 2 minutes rinsing dishes. It moved freely after cooling down, as I found when I took it out that I could slide the cartridge with my fingers. So I reinstalled it and it worked fine with cold water, but then running hot for a minute it locked up again. The new one from Home Depot does not totally lock up but it gets difficult to operate after running hot water. What do you think? Jeff to Home Depot: In a message dated 3/6/2017 , This is what I sent to Kohler, thanks for the new cartridge, At least it works fairly well. Jeff

I was looking for a higher end faucet and reviewed many brands (Kohler, Moen, Delta, etc) and this one ended up being my favorite based on the sleek design (non bulky looking base), size and functions. It is very heavy and feels of sturdy construction with smooth pivoting features. My favorite features are the handle (installs on the right, if you are facing it), which pulls out to the right to turn on (push back toward the base to turn off) and the temperature is adjusted by flipping the flat bar up (hot) or down (cold). I noticed many faucets have handles that would rotate and twist out awkwardly for temparature control. This one was streamline and makes sense, plus the flat bar is wide and pivots easy enough to push with your arm if your hands are dirty. My second favorite feature is the Sweep Spray. There are 2 buttons behind the faucet head, a circle one that pauses the water flow (must keep your finger on it to use this function) and a bar shaped button that will alternate the stream vs spray option (once you select the feature, there is no need to hold down). The Sweep Spray is very powerful and can spray off fresh food from your dishes (sometimes even old food depending on how much it is caked on) and provides a very wide spray that I find useful for quick wipe downs of my sink. I think this feature is unique to some Kohlers. Some other cool features include a full 360 degrees rotation of the faucet head stemming from the middle of the neck. I can only use it to 180 since I have a wall/window behind it but it is still very useful when I have a giant cutting board or pot that I need extra room for scrubbing. It was a very easy install, I just YouTubed a demo video. The pull down hose is very long and you can adjust the position of the weight bar during the install to determine the length. I have a 33" sink and I have the hose extending beyond the sink to reach my adjacent stove so I can fill up pots of water easily. It comes in different color options, I purchased the brushed stainless to match my other appliances. Water marks are not a problem on the faucet head or neck, but they show up on the base due to frequent water splashes on it. (Quick tip - I use a piece of waxed paper and rub it over the faucet head/neck to add a slight water resistant coating to prevent water stains). The only complaint is that the water pressure is very strong when I have it on full blast in the Sweep Spray mode (gets water misting everywhere), but I don't know if I can attribute that to the faucet or the over water pressure of my house. Overall, I LOVE this faucet and have no regrets. It is a little more on the pricey end but I figure this faucet will last me a lifetime and/or increase my kitchen value if I ever sell the house. It looks amazing! I hope you find this review helpful.

One thing I'm not a fan of...If you use the sweep spray and turn the water off, the next time you turn the water on, the sweep spray setting is still engaged. Would be better if it always switched back to the normal stream. Other than that, great faucet! Looks great and works great!

April, 2017 - The Kohler Bellera was relatively easy to install, although the Bellera water line fittings are 3/8" so I did have to change out the shut off valves to accept the smaller water lines. Narrower flow lines make for a noticeable reduction in the water flow. The pull down spray is definitely not magnetic (as implied in previous descriptions - recently changed). Instead, the pull down sprayer relies on a substantial metal weight which pulls the sprayer head back into the faucet. There is no magnet which snaps/holds it in place. There are other brands which do use a magnet. Still, the weight system might work reasonably well if you don't happen to have other plumbing directly below the faucet such that the hose and weight moving up and down bump up against the drain piping. Aside from the sprayer system, the faucet itself seems to work fine. The goose neck swivels freely between the two sinks. It Looks good and seems to be nicely sized for my double bowl sink.
