Is the Apron Surface smooth or rippled?

In one of the reviews, it shows the apron surface is rippled? Is that truly the case or are the ones you have now smooth, like on the Kohler website?
Asked by: aareno
I am not sure why Kohler says it is smooth. We own this tub (bought in the last couple months) and the surface is slightly rippled but this does not bother us.

Bellwether 5 ft. Left Drain Soaking Tub in Almond is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking tub. Cast Iron is the way to go... Great looking tub. Cast Iron is the way to go since it hold heat very well. The drawback in the tub drain has to be ordered from Kohler but thanks to reviews like this I knew before I bought it. Make sure to also purchase an extra long spout. We also found this information based on reviews. BUY

This tub requires a special order overflow spout with a cost of $200 vs. $35 typical, because the front wall is sloped not straight. I like the look of it, but can't say the style is worth the additional cost.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking looking tub. It was everything it ... Nice looking looking tub. It was everything it said it was on the description. My only issue Was that you need a special over flow for this tub that costs $150. So if you don't feel like spending extra money for the Kohler specific overflow/drain part, don't buy this tub

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Shorter than expected The tub is shorter than expected due to both ends being slopped, if the drain end was straight up and down I would be able to lay my legs flat in the tub. I'm 5'9" and have to bend a lot to fit in the tub however the water depth does make up for lack of "leg room"

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tub design poor The slope on the drain side of the tub is so slanted that the tub faucet runs directly on the overfill port. Also because of this slope it was hard to get the overfill hardware to seal properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What we needed After thoroughly studying other reviews, along with the price, I decided this was the right tub for our needs. It arrived in perfect condition and our plumber had no trouble installing it. Like other reviewers, I had to search for a faucet set that would fit the curve in the odd design. Koehler doesn't seem to have one that has a long enough tub spout so I bought a Moen Voss which fit well. Not many options to choose from. Home Depot had two options for the overflow drain. My plumber said the copper one fit well and was not difficult to install.

The tub itself is great however it arrived damaged, crack and scratches all over the front apron and the ledge. Koehler said it's Home Depot's fault and wouldn't honor the warranty and refuse to fix the cracks and scratches. Home Depot tried to re ship the tub however, I still am waiting for it because they kept making error re-order the tub and couldn't keep the delivery on schedule, tons of excuses.... I only have one bathroom in my apt and I cannot take a shower for weeks, this is not right...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bellwether 5 ft. Right Drain Cast-Iron Soaking Tub in White We purchased this cast iron tub to replace a 40 yr old (green) cast iron tub in our house. We have hard water and cast iron is easy to clean and lasts for years. The nice thing about this tub is that it's a little wider and water depth is deeper for soaking. There is about 4" lip all the way around that makes it easy to set things on. Installation wasn't difficult except that it is extremely heavy (298 lbs). You will need to get an extended faucet because of the slant of the tub and a longer overflow hookup. We purchased this online and picked it up and installed it ourselves. DIYer's... I'd do it again. And highly recommend this tub
