This was a replacement for the original toilet seat that came with the Kohler Cimarron toilet. It is more attractive and sturdier plus it has the LED nightlight. It is comfortable and I love the slow close feature - No banging by accident! The LED is very dim, but, does highlight the bowl area without turning on the bathroom lighting. The quick-release feature is great at cleaning time. The batteries are easy to replace and the light is easy to program for overnight and maintain the setting. It is possible to reset the timer on the light by holding in the button for a few seconds. I'm very pleased with this seat and it looks great!

This LED toilet seat is the same model seat as I got with a Kohler Cimarron toilet I installed a couple of years ago with the addition of the LED feature. I really like these seats - I find them comfortable and steady. They have a quick-release feature so it was literally a matter of seconds to swap in the new seat.
The hinges and mounting parts are plastic with stainless steel bolts. The slow-close feature works silently and smoothly.
The LED feature uses 4 AA batteries that are supposed to last 6 months. It emits a faint blue light which is sufficient to show the outline of the bowl when it's dark. Pressing the power button on the back of the hinge turns on the light for 7-hours, and then repeats every 24 hours. Pressing and holding the button for 4 seconds turns off the light, so it's easy to reset the cycle if needed.
The circuit board that controls the lights is encapsulated in plastic to protect it from moisture, but the batteries and battery contacts could possibly be dampened by spray. To minimize this possibility I used transparent tape to seal the front edge of the LED/battery assembly to the seat.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CarterB Light is a nice idea but needs work. Very good seat.
The main part of this item, the seat, is top notch. It is solid plastic and won't cave in if you sit down on it with the lid closed. It has a sleek appearance and gripping bumpers so it doesn't slide around when you're on it.
The best feature is the slow close. Just a gentle push and it eases back down. Really, really good for young kids to avoid slamming lids shut.
It has a quick release feature that only takes seconds to remove the seat for cleaning or to replace the batteries for the light.
Now for the light itself. It would be a nice accessory but the light is far too dim to provide any meaningful illumination in the middle of the night. You can see a very faint glow but nothing for any true "guidance". It is on a simple timer that once you turn the light on it stays on for 7 hours beginning at the same time each day. I would think a combination light/motion sensor would give better results but could be more expensive.
Overall, it's a neat "gadget" as far as toilets go that you can point out to visitors but isn't very useful. The seat itself is great although similar features can be found in "lesser" models at a lower price.

I did not know there was such a thing as a night lighted toilet! My daughter bought it for me! Now I don't think I could ever be without it. Just a soft blue glow on the water (when the lid is up) is all you see in the middle of the night. When the lid is down it glows off the back. It uses batteries so even if the electricity goes off it still comes on with its built in 7 hour timer. Oh, and the soft close is good too.

This is a cool product. Yes, I know there are some of you thinking “a what?” Trust me this is cool especially if you have young kids or need to get up several times in the night to go to the bathroom. Those of you with young kids have probably experienced the half asleep child running through the house in the dark trying to remember where the bathroom is. As parents we’re jerked out of sleep and have to go chase the child down and get them to the bathroom before and accident occurs. Of course the moment we turn the lights on it’s so hard on the kids eyes that they attempt to complete the task with their eyes shut. The result are as expected. The Kohler toilet light is the perfect solution. It’s like a beacon directing them to port. The light is blue so it’s not harsh on the eyes. The lights are LED’s so minimal power use and my understanding of LED lifetime is they have so many hours we don’t even think of them ever burning out. The seat uses 4 AA batteries. After installing the seat, that night when you want the lights on just press the on button. The lights will then stay on for 7 hours and then shut themselves off. The seat also remembers the time when you pushed the button so the following nights it turns itself on at the same time. Even for myself I like the light. I can get up in the night and not have to be fully woken up by blaring white lights. I just keep the house lights off and return to my bed thus minimizing how much of my sleep was compromised.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jeremy Good seat - Don't fall for the light
Quality of seat is good. Wouldn't recommend paying the extra for the light. It is an interesting concept, but the lights are very small and dim and, in my opinion, not worth the extra money. Wish the were a bit brighter.

I bought this because I like the idea of a light to illuminate the bowl at night. In the past I have used a clip on light I found online which worked pretty well until it broke and it is no longer available. The seat is made well, however the light is useless. It does not illuminate into the bowl itself, just the back of the toilet seat and to change the batteries you have to take the seat off. I returned it. Maybe Kohler will get its act together and make a better one, until then I will search for another light online.
