I like the slow close. The light is a gimmick. Batteries kept for a few months and you have to remove the toilet seat to replace them. I never bothered. Only 1 year warranty. One of the retaining clips broke of. Not worth the extra expense. No wonder it's discontinued.

We just bought this seat tonight. I went to put it on, and there was literally no LED unit in it. Spent over $45 for a toilet seat that was incomplete, yet supposedly brand new in packaging. Returning it tomorrow and buying a toilet seat that is actually complete and worth the money. Total waste of time and money.

The night light feature is perfect. We like the soft close feature as well. The seat is plastic, not of high quality but we have had no issues.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Nightlight feature is a waste
When my old soft close toilet seat broke I decided to upgrade to a top of the line seat. An LED lit bowl sounded like a fantastic idea. I almost pulled the trigger on the anti-microbial scented LED seat but decided against it after reading some poor reviews. As it turns out the LED feature is a poorly designed waste of time and money. I was expecting an option for the LED light to be activated upon lifting the seat cover. Instead the light is either on for 7 hours, or off. It's dark for about 10 hours a day so the logic is hard to follow. This product is a failure.

A night light built into the toilet seat sounds great at first. You would think that you wouldn't have to turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night but you still have to. The brightness of your bathroom light shines over the little dim light of the toilet seat so it makes it useless. The area where the light and battery is located is very difficult to clean. It is very close to the toilet bowl but not close enough that it doesn't block out the yucky elements. The seat itself is well made, the top slowly closes without slamming and that area is easy to clean. The seat without the light would be perfect.

Based on the video showing the lighting feature of this seat, I expected to be able to see the bowl somewhat illuminated. Not the case. If you are purchasing this thinking you will be able to see the bowl illuminated like in the Kohler video, don't waste your time. I am returning to store today.

I just remodeled a bathroom and figured I would spend the extra money on a nice Kohler brand toilet seat. The light was a bonus for my 6 year old. When I installed it, (because of the adjustable feature), there are clips that go in between the bolts and the toilet. The nuts are plastic and the first one I screwed in never tightened - it stripped before it got close to tightening enough. I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning it so I used a wing nut with rubber washer as a fix. When I got it installed, I put the seat up and it sounded like cracking plastic. I put it back in the box and returned it. I do not recommend this to anyone.
