Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Nightlight feature is a waste
When my old soft close toilet seat broke I decided to upgrade to a top of the line seat. An LED lit bowl sounded like a fantastic idea. I almost pulled the trigger on the anti-microbial scented LED seat but decided against it after reading some poor reviews. As it turns out the LED feature is a poorly designed waste of time and money. I was expecting an option for the LED light to be activated upon lifting the seat cover. Instead the light is either on for 7 hours, or off. It's dark for about 10 hours a day so the logic is hard to follow. This product is a failure.

A night light built into the toilet seat sounds great at first. You would think that you wouldn't have to turn on the bathroom light in the middle of the night but you still have to. The brightness of your bathroom light shines over the little dim light of the toilet seat so it makes it useless. The area where the light and battery is located is very difficult to clean. It is very close to the toilet bowl but not close enough that it doesn't block out the yucky elements. The seat itself is well made, the top slowly closes without slamming and that area is easy to clean. The seat without the light would be perfect.

Had no problem with the install and love the no slam feature but after three weeks the light is eating batteries. I've changed them two days in a row and each time the battery compartment was damp. Like the slip off feature but the jury is still out. If it continues to go through batteries it will go back or I will contact Kohler.

I just remodeled a bathroom and figured I would spend the extra money on a nice Kohler brand toilet seat. The light was a bonus for my 6 year old. When I installed it, (because of the adjustable feature), there are clips that go in between the bolts and the toilet. The nuts are plastic and the first one I screwed in never tightened - it stripped before it got close to tightening enough. I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning it so I used a wing nut with rubber washer as a fix. When I got it installed, I put the seat up and it sounded like cracking plastic. I put it back in the box and returned it. I do not recommend this to anyone.

The lighted toilet seat is a great idea but the design is not the best as the light only stays on 7 hours, uses 4x AA batteries about every five months, and the light module is difficult to clean.
Light only stays lit for 7 hours (ex 9pm-4am or 10pm-5am or 11pm-6am)
4x AA batteries only last for ~5 months
Light module is difficult to clean
Easy to install
Seat stays on the toilet and does not shift around
Light is a nice subtle blue

After unpacking this product, I thought the idea was fantastic! A night light built into a toilet seat.
I installed this seat in the wife's bathroom and it was disappointed.
1) If the light wears down the batteries, the seat has to be disassembled, (removed from the toilet)batteries changed, and then reinstalled
2) The blue LED light was barely visible unless the seat was fully opened.
Installation was as easy (as other toilet seats) but don't depend on this one to provide any extra night lighting as claimed!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MomofBoys Light is a waste, but great seat otherwise. Buy the unlit version.
We purchased the same no-slam seat for one bathroom and think it is amazing, so purchased the nightlight version for the kids bathroom. Within days the light feature quit working, but for only a $3 price difference, it's not worth the trip to return and re-install the non-lit version. It also seems to fit a bit looser than the no-light model. Still recommend as the no slam works beautifully and the ability to remove the seat for cleaning is fantastic. Super disappointed in the lighting feature though. Expected better for a $43 toilet seat.

The idea of a nightlight on a toilet seat seemed funny at first, but when we thought about it, it was a good idea when our elderly parents stay over. The installation was the same as most seats. We just had to put the batteries in the compartment first. The light is not as bright as I thought it would be, but it works. It stays on for 7 hours, then shuts off, or you can turn it off.
