PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Model # K-99249-0

Internet # 204757475

The KOHLER touchless toilet is the no-touch flush for your home. Just hold your hand over the tank sensor to activate the flush. No handle to touch means fewer germs to pick up or leave behind. This Cimarron toilet features innovative AquaPiston technology, a patented flush engine that delivers a fast, powerful, and plug-free flush. A 1.28 Gal. flush provides significant water savings of up to 16,500 GPY, compared to a 3.5 Gal. toilet, without sacrificing performance.

  • Flush is activated by a no-touch sensor mounted inside the tank
  • Powered by 4 AA batteries (included)
  • 2-piece toilet
  • Elongated bowl offers added room and comfort
  • Comfort height feature offers chair-height seating that makes sitting down and standing up easier for most adults
  • 1.28 GPF (gallons per flush)
  • Complete solution toilets provide everything you need in one box, including bowl, tank, seat, wax ring, and floor hardware
  • Includes K-4774 Brevia Q2 seat
  • Supply line not included
  • Combination consists of the K-5692 tank and the K-4309 bowl
  • Coordinates with other products in the Cimarron collection
  • Available exclusively at The Home Depot
  • Touchless module projects an electromagnetic field through the top of the tank lid that senses your hand, causing the toilet to flush
  • Single-flush gravity uses the force of gravity and a precision-engineered tank, bowl, and trapway to create a strong siphon during flushing
  • AquaPiston canister allows water to flow into the bowl from all sides (360°), increasing the power and effectiveness of the flush
  • Flush valve's 3:2 ratio harnesses the natural force of gravity and optimizes flush performance
  • Durable canister design has 90% less exposed seal material than a 3 in. flapper, for leak-free performance. Light-touch canister flush requires a lower actuation force than a flapper
  • Touchless only adds three simple steps to installation. Standard 12 in. rough-in

No. There is no lever or knob as a backup system to flush this toilet when the auto flush fails. Your only option is to leave the lid off and stick your hand in the tank water and pull the flushing mechanism by hand.

No. This toilet has no back up flush system at all. If the auto flush does not work, you cannot flush it. There is no flush knob or lever at all. You will have to leave the lid off of the tank and put your hand in the tank water and pull up the flush mechanism by hand to flush it.

No. And these toilets will not flush for long on auto flush, either. Return what you have and get a normal flush toilet. After five months my three toilets did not work with the auto sensor, and I had to buy three new normal tanks because there is no knob backup, and HD has a strict three month return policy. These toilets were a nightmare.

Answer:
The only way to flush the toilet manually (like if the batteries die), is to take the lid off, reach into the tank, and lift up on the black tube in the very center, which will make it flush. Then just let go of it. You will have to do this each and every time until you replace the batteries. I have not had to change the batteries in mine yet, so no telling how long it will last. So far so good!

This particular model does not have a hole for mounting a handle, so it is touchless only.
Another option is to purchase the regular Cimarron Model with manual handle, along with a touchless kit. It can be connected for using manual and touchless flush at the same time. See my review for further details.

You may have the sensor unit positioned too high in the tank. The installation instructions tell you how to attach the metal bracket to the sensor unit. The attachment varies with toilet types.
If the sensor is too high and touching the porcelain tank cover vibrations (such as from passing trucks or even a door slamming) may trigger the flusher.

You may even try simply sliding the mounting bracket on the sensor just a very little to the right or left on the tank. I have both a Cimarron complete set, and an existing retrofit sensor on an existing toilet. The Cimarron sensor has been flawless but I had issues identical to yours with the retrofit. I lowered the unit one notch and haven't had the slightest issue since with flushing on it's own. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Touchless system keeps flushing Purchased 3 of these toilets to replace in my house less than a year ago. Already two toilets flushing system does not work properly. The toilets keep flushing on their own. Very irritating and disturbing especially when you have to get up in the middle of the night to the sound of flushing toilets. Tried everything but no use. Maybe the mechanism are just faulty and I have no intentions to purchase a new kit as recommended by the home depot associate. Everytime have to remove the batteries when leaving the house. I bought these toilets keeping in mind the Kohler Brand known for its product quality but this truly has been a disappointment. November 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by dont buy touch less toilet. Toilet flushes all day and all night long by its self. Wastes water. Does not flush when you want it to. Batteries are always dead. I am trying to figure out how to make it a manual flush. April 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy Purchased at Home Depot in June 2015. Easy to install and looks very nice. Started out working fine but after 3 weeks the batteries died. Replaced batteries and they lasted only 2 weeks. Replaced batteries and began to take note of the times the toilet would just flush on its own. Random flushes apparently kept killing the batteries. Called Kohler Customer Service - they were very polite and helpful. They sent me a repair kit free of charge. The repair parts worked better. Batteries last about 5 weeks but there are still random flushes. I would not recommend this toilet - I'm very disappointed with this product. January 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by My family is now poor from all the batteries and water this thing eats. This toilet eats batteries like the cookie monster. It also randomly flushes at anytime during the day. I wish I could install a handle. Don't buy it. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Invention for the Home Bathroom! After using this toilet for a couple months I really don't have anything negative to say about it (except that I upgraded the seat to a slow closing one). I had some concerns looking at all the pieces in the box, the mechanism seems too small to control the flush, but it definitely works - every time. You simply wave your hand over the sensor and with one very faint beep the toilet flushes. The best part is we taught our dog how to put his nose over the sensor to flush - great party trick. Overall, the height is perfect, the mechanism is great, the low water use is fantastic, and the install was simple. Love it! June 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Touch too much Product good idea but too much babysitting. Battery problems. Constantly replacing flusher touch less cube n batteries. Adjusting. It half flushes random flushes full flushes but water keeps running. Works fine half the time but then we babysit. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely love this product - previously had dual flush (low flow) products that just wouldn't flush for guests - how embarrassing and a pain. - tried this product for over a year before bought a second when renovated the upstairs. Same batteries for over two years! - works perfectly 100% in every way you expect for a toilet, although occasionally I don't intend to flush it but "registers" my hand movement over the tank, never had the mysterious problems other have mentioned. - Every single guest loves this toilet.
