I am trying to figure out how to make the stopper keep the water in the tub, but it just doesn't work, what is the proper procedure?

Asked by: Anonymous
When screwed into place, all you should need to do is push down, the stopper will be a little lower, but the gasket will seal, then to drain, just push it again and it should pop up a little and commence draining. If it doesn't work like that, then contact the MFG.

Customer Reviews

Clearflo 23.06 in. Slotted Overflow Bath Drain in Vibrant Moderne Brushed Gold is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 81.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this drain for the Kohler tub Nice drain. Follow directions closely. The tub precut horizontal drain is only +/- 1/8" smaller than the stainless mating flange for the gasket and tail piece. Positioning and an overnight cure for the silicon seal needed to insure a watertight gasket are essential.

We have been advised to do our best to not allow the water to reach the level where the overflow would be used. Because of this I would not purchase this overflow drain or bathtub again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Answer to problem There have been many reviews regarding this drain not working due to a flaw in the design. I contacted Kohler for a replacement stopper because after a few months our drain quit holding water also. When I replaced the rubber gasket, I noticed that it was originally installed on the metal top that you press to engage/disengage the drain. So I replaced the new on there and it didn't fit properly. But I tried it anyway and the new one didn't work either. Then it hit me; you put the gasket on the threads of the plastic cartridge. Once I did that, it worked like a charm and I could screw the drain in completely instead of unscrewing it slightly in order for it to function. Easy fix. This drain also comes in oil rubbed bronze. You just have to order it elsewhere.
